(From Cemeteries Of Lewis Co., WV and Adjacent Counties, Vol. 1, Historical & Genealogical Society of Cental West Virginia) This cemetery is among the oldest in Lewis County. Located approximately one mile west of Berlin on the Hacker's Creek road on the farm of Paul Alkire. To gain entrance to this well fenced cemetery, go through the gate in the pasture fence on the north side of the road about 50 feet west of the historical marker to the John Hacher Settlement. The cemetery is directly north of the gate about 500 feet. On my visit to the cemetery, I found that Priscilla, was buried there, along with her parents and some other members of her family. She has a nice gravestone, however, it this time, it has fallen over and is wearing away. The stone shows that she died, 1 Aug 1874 - 34 y 8m 1d. Santy Route 3, Box 370 Fairmont, WV 26554 He stated in a phone conversation, on 27 April 1999, that when they went to Uncle Bob's Funeral, (Robert Ulysses Heinzman), that Uncle Bob wanted his brother Ceiel to have a volin he had after his death, because Ceiel could play it. They picked up the volin, before they left for home and he thinks that one of Ceiel's boys probably still has it. He also told me, as well as my mother, Alice Hinzman Wood, that Robert Ulysses and his son, Robert Braid Hinzman, would go back down to West Virginia, once per year to see the family and play music. Robert Ulysses, played his volin and was good at it. From notes based on conversations with Alice Mae Hinzman, April - May, 1999: She stated that her grandfather, Robert Ulysses Heinzman, was about 5' 2" tall and maybe 110 lbs., if he was wet, however, his sisters that she met were all tall and slimmer. He worked at serveral different jobs in his life. She knows that he was a farmer and a rancher at one time or another. She remembers him helping his son Art out on his bakery truck, for Ertl Baking Company. It was the old style delivery system, where you stopped your truck on the street, in the different neighborhoods and the people would come out to the truck, to get what they needed. After Art, sold his truck, he went to work for Ertl Bakery.
