He retired from Ohio Edison Co. in 1990 as supervisor of operations with 35 years of service. He was a member of Ohio Edison Men's Club and a U.S. Navy veteran of the Korean War. He was a retired pharmacist for the former Westlo Drug Store, West Logan, and a World War II veteran serving as a paratrooper. He was a member of First Baptist Church, South Point, Ohio, and a member of West Logan Baptist Church for several years, where he served as a deacon. Bonar and Retta Montgomery Bonar Liston. He was a 1925 graduate of Mansfield High School, Mansfield, Ohio, attended West Liberty College, and received a bachelor's degree from West Virginia University in 1929. He attended W.Va. Medical School and graduated from University of Cincinnati Medical School in 1933. He was a general practitioner from 1935-42 in Mansfield. During World War II, he served as flight surgeon and captain with a pilot's rating in the U.S. Army Air Corps, Troop Carrier Group, based in England and France. He was an active pilot and airplane owner for 48 years and was a member of Flying Physicians Association. After World War II, he returned to Mansfield where he practiced obstetrics and gynecology from 1946-62. From 1962-80, he specialized in gynecology with an emphasis on cancer surgery. He was a member of Executive University Rotary, Westbrook Country Club, Marquis Masonic Lodge 690 AF&AM and First Congregational Church. Surviving are his wife, Edythe Salo Maxim-Bonar of North Ridgeville; one brother, C. Robert Bonar of Harrisville; two nephews, Robert G. Bonar of Grantsville and David Bonar of Potomac, Md.; two nieces, Barbara L. Hadley of Marietta and Diane Bonar of Sacramento, Calif.; three great-nephews; and four great-nieces. He graduated from West Virginia School for the Blind in 1927 and received his AB degree from Glenville State College in 1931, graduating magna cum laude. He received his master's degree from West Virginia University in 1947 and did graduate work at Duke University. His 39-year career was spent as teacher and principal of West Virginia School for the Blind in Romney. In 1950, he received the honor of being the only totally blind person chosen to attend the international convention for the blind in Oslo, Norway. He edited the book, "Historic Hampshire," published in 1976 in commemoration of the bicentennial. When Hampshire Day was organized, he became the first Knight of Olde Hampshire. He was selected alumnus of the year for Glenville State College in 1968. He was a member of national and state teacher organizations, Lions Club and Rotary Club, both of Romney, and First United Methodist Church, Romney. He served on the board of the Middletown Crisis Pregnancy Center and Board of Faith Children Home, Tampa, Fla. He also served in the U.S. Army Reserves. JUNE, PAMELA WEAVER 1/30/1997 Pamela Sue Weaver June, 42, died Wednesday, Jan. 15, 1997, in Northwest Hospital, Tucson, Ariz., following an extended illness. She was born in Barberton, Ohio, a daughter of John Delbert and Maxine Arthur Weaver of Tucson. She was a registered nurse and was a staff nurse at St. Mary's Hospital, Tucson, until early 1996. She was a former resident of Arbovale and a graduate of Marshall University, Huntington. She was a granddaughter of the late Charles and Mabel Arthur and Mabel Weaver McEndree of Calhoun County. Surviving in addition to her parents are her husband, John June; one daughter, Amanda Gail; one brother, Charles "Chuck" Weaver, all of Tucson; a sister, Carolyn of Campbell, Calif.; and numerous relatives in West Virginia and Ohio.
