BEULAH MACE
Beulah C. Mace, 98, of Sand Ridge, died Monday Nov. 5, 2007, at St. Francis Hospital, Charleston. She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late William and Belle Simmons Poling and was a homemaker.
Surviving are 2 daughters, Elma Jean Mace and Helen June Mace, both of Sand Ridge; one son, Deo Darrell Mace of Sand Ridge; and three grandsons, Nathan Mace of Charleston, Walter and Richard Mace both of Sand Ridge. She was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph Mace. Services were held Saturday, November 10 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg with Rev. Carroll McCauley officiating. Burial was in Mace-White Cemetery, Sand Ridge.

DENZIL MACE, SR.
Denzil Mace, Sr., 80, of Spencer, died Saturday, June 22, 2002, at home.
He was born in Calhoun County, the son of the late Mart and Rebecca Roberts
Mace. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and was retired from Pipeliners
Local Union 798.
Surviving are his wife, Anna M. Dolan Mace; three daughters, Sharon McCortney of
Akron, Ohio, Debbie Mazon of Walton and Winnie Vandale of Spencer; three sons,
Jerry Mace of Gandeeville and Denzil Mace, Jr., and Daniel Mace, both of
Spencer; one sister, Winnie Motich of Akron; 20 grandchildren; and 12
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Betty mace and Carolyn Mullins; one
sister, Melva Icard; one brother, Victor Mace; one half-brother, Fred Church;
and one half-sister, Beulah Butler.
There was no visitation or service. His body was cremated.

Dillon Michael Mace, infant son of William W. and Cheryl Matheney Mace of
Millstone, died at birth on Friday, June 29, 2001, at St. Joseph's Hospital,
Buckhannon.
Surviving in addition to his parents are three sisters, Stephanie Mace of
Lockney, Tammy Lynn Mace of Millstone and Heather Hull of Rock Cave; paternal
grandparents, Harless and Shirley Mace of Millstone; and maternal grandmother,
Linda Matheney of Beckley.
He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Dennis Matheney.
Graveside services will be held Saturday, July 7, 2 p.m. at Beechtown Cemetery,
Frenchton, with Rev. Mike Worf and Rev. James Lowe officiating. Stump Funeral
Home of Arnoldsburg is in charge of arrangements.

Edith Mace, 82, of Harrisville, died Monday, Mar. 11, 2002, at Pine View
Continuous Care, Harrisville.
She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late Samuel C. and Flora Gay
Bell Husk. She retired from Pine View Continuous Care with 21 years of service
as a nursing assistant.
Surviving are two sons, J. Ralph Mace of Weston and Jimmy C. Mace of
Harrisville; four daughters, Mary Jo Sams of Weston, Barbara J. Jordon of Rocky
Point, N.C., Martha J. Busch of Parkersburg and Judy Sheppard of Vienna; two
brothers, Stephen Husk of Elizabeth and Leander Husk of Warren, Ohio; two
sisters, Jean Webster and Leah Thompson, both of Warren; nine grandchildren;
nine step-grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and one
great-great-grandson.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Corder Mace; two grandsons; two
granddaughters; three brothers; and three sisters.
Services will be held Friday, 11 a.m., at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville.
Private graveside services will be held at Walker Cemetery. Visitation will be
on Thursday, 2 to 7 p.m., and Friday, 9 to 11 a.m., at the funeral home.

Hubert L. Mace, 79, of Arnoldsburg, died Thursday, May 19, 2005, at his home.
He was born in Calhoun County, the son of the late Harley and Lillie Bailey Mace. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II, having served as a truck driver in the 756 Ordnance Co., 65th Army Division. He was retired from E.F. Hauserman Co.
Surviving are two sons, Danny Mace of Talmadge, Ohio, and Duane Mace of Mt. Zion; one daughter, Lorrie Mace of Arnolds-burg; two sisters, Marge Digman of Spencer and Fern Kelley of Vienna; two half-sisters, Janet Sweeney of Sheffield Lake, Ohio, and Patricia Selopek of Medina, Ohio; one half-brother, Troy Gene Mace of Spokane, Wash.; and nine grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Delores Mace, in 2000.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Rick Swearingen officiating. Burial was in Mace Cemetery, Arnoldsburg.

James L. Mace, 57, of Chloe, died Sunday, June 8, 2008, at Charleston Area Medical Center.
He was born in Arnoldsburg, the son of the late Oral and Ernestine Hoskins Mace.
He was a truck driver for Pete Gould & Sons, Murraysville, and a member of Minnora Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Karen Mace; one daughter, Jordan Mace of Chloe; two sons, Wade Mace of Glenville and Justin Mace of Parkersburg; three brothers, Ken Mace of Chloe, Harley Mace of Heaters and Jeff Mace of Millstone; and six sisters, Kathy Stevens of Kenna, Lillie O’Brien of Walton, Lou Johnson of Grantsville, Debbie Mace of Arnoldsburg, Becky Stagg of Spencer and June Sampson of Stumptown; and two grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Shirley Sampson and an infant.
Services were scheduled Wednesday, 1 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Tim Hickman, Jerry Malona and Robert Bailey officiating, and burial in Minnora Cemetery.

She was born in Arnoldsburg, the daughter of the late Jesse and Pearl Evans Powell. She was retired from Spencer State Hospital as a nursing assistant. She was a member of Summit Valley United Methodist Church, Williamstown, and Louisa Chapel United Methodist Church, Arnoldsburg.
Surviving are one son, Richard Mace of Vienna; two daughters, Sharon Sue Nicholas of Parkersburg and Pearl Bollinger of Washington; one brother, Jesse Powell of Barberton, Ohio; one sister, Velma Ferrell of Doyletown, Ohio; five grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Glen Mace; one granddaughter, Deanna Bollinger; five brothers; four sisters; and one son, Glen Mace, Jr.
Services were held at Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Jeff Nolte officiating. Burial was in Mace Cemetery, Calhoun County.

Pauline C. Mace, 97, of Spencer, died Thursday, Nov. 23, 2000, in CAMC-Memorial
Division, Charleston.
She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late David Monroe and Maude
Lawson Carpenter. She was a retired employee of the former Spencer Hospital, Spencer,
and a member of Leatherbark Community Church.
Surviving are four daughters, Lenora Helper of St. Albans, Kathryn Grady of Dunbar,
and Helen Lester and Dorothy Conner, both of Spencer; two sons, Jack Mace of
Leatherbark and Bob Mace of Elyria, Ohio; three half-sisters, Maine Lowe and
Emogene Brumbaugh, both of Akron, Ohio, and Evelyn "Bob" Kirby of Grantsville; 18
grandchildren; 34 great-grandchildren; and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Harmie Mace, in 1962; one granddaughter,
Sandra Grady Koonce; and one infant brother.
Services were held at John H. Taylor Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. D.L. Kirby
officiating. Burial was in Eventide Cemetery, Spencer.

He was born in Roane County, the son of the late Gay L. Mace and Beulah Church

Aluminum, and attended Leatherbark Community Church.
Surviving are his wife, Barbara E. Mace; two sons, Stanley Mace of Spencer and

brothers, Arnold Mace of Spencer and Larry Mace of Given; and two grandchildren.

Woodrow Gerald Mace, 78, of Boaz, died Sunday, July 14, 2002, at St. Joseph's
Hospital, Parkersburg.
He was born in Calhoun County, the son of the late Clyde and Mary Angerstein
Mace. He was a 1940 graduate of Parkersburg High School and a Navy veteran of
World War II. He retired from Corning Glass in 1981.
Surviving are three brothers, Denver Mace, Clyde "Buster" Mace and Conard "Bun"
Mace; one sister, Mary Mace; eight children, Woody Mace, Sandra Flanagan, Cathy
Spars, Penny Oldaker, Susan Richards, Lesa Richards, Woody Mace II and Tammy
Burge; 13 grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Della Mae Deaton Mace; seven brothers and
sisters; one son; and one grandson.
Graveside services were held at Friendly Cemetery, Friendly, with Dr. Bill
Thomas officiating.

She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late Bryan and Mary Jane Bush Wright. She had worked for Arlene’s Dress Shop as a retail manager and was a member of Beechwood Presbyterian Church.
Surviving are her husband of 65 years, Don Maloney; one son, Don Maloney, Jr., of Parkersburg; two daughters, Shirleyan Brown of N. Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Patricia Fordyce of Parkersburg; six grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters, Thelma Francis of Parkersburg and Tressia Francis of Grantsville; and two brothers, Harlow Wright of New Mexico and Kenneth Wright of Ripley.
She was preceded in death by five brothers and sisters and an infant grandson.

He was born in Logan County, the son of the late Albert and Bertha Garrett Mangus. He was a former coal miner and member of Five Forks Community Church.
Surviving are his wife, Patty Mangus; one son, Curtis of Dawsonville, Ga.; one daughter, Tyrena Mangus of Mt. Zion; one brother, Arnold Mangus of Festus, Mo.; and four grandchildren, Curtis, Jr., Harley, Paige and Ryka.
He was preceded in death by one brother and one sister.

LINDSEY RYAN MANN
Lindsey Ryan Mann, 16, of Spencer, died Saturday, May 28, 2005, from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
She was born in Huntington, the daughter of Melinda and Donald Sampson of Spencer and Charles and Sharon Mann of Huntington. She was a sophomore at Roane County High School, and a member of Future Business Leaders of America and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. She was a member of 4-H, having served as president, vice president and treasurer, and was a 4-H livestock showperson. She was a former cheerleader and wrestling matmaid, manager for the RCHS football team, member of Hi-Y, National Junior Honor Society, Honor Roll and Youth Government lobbyist in Charleston, and was a pole vaulter on the RCHS track team. She was a West Virginia Pre-Teen Finalist and was named Miss Photogenic at the Junior Miss Black Walnut Festival Pageant. She formerly attended Fifth Avenue Baptist Church, Huntington. She was going to go to Australia this summer to represent West Virginia and the United States in the Down Under Olympics as a pole vaulter.
Surviving, in addition to her parents, are four sisters, Cassie Mann and Kelly, Kristen and Traci Sampson; one brother, Chase Mann; paternal grandparents, Charles and Patricia Mann of Huntington; and maternal grandparents, Roy G. and Irene Hildreth of Spencer.
Services will be held Saturday, 1:30 p.m., at Roane County High School, with the eulogy by Bob and Anita Ashley and Jean Melarvie. Burial will follow in Spencer Memorial Cemetery with graveside rites by Rev. Randy Whited. Visiting hours are scheduled Friday, 4 to 8 p.m., at the high school. Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, is in charge of arrangements.

She was born in Grantsville, the daughter of the late Tillman and Pansy Trippett Starkey. She was a graduate of Calhoun County High School, Marietta Beauty College and Charleston Beauty Academy. She was a beautician and retired from V.J.P. Hair Salon, Grantsville. She attended Parkview United Methodist Church and was a member of Knotts Memorial United Methodist Church, Grantsville.
Surviving are one son, Nicholas Furr of Virginia; one grandson, Chris Furr and wife Kelly of Little Hocking, Ohio; one great-grandson, Levi Furr; and one brother, William Starkey of Grantsville.
Memorial services were held at Lambert- Tatman Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Larry Crawford officiating. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.

Zion; 4 daughters, Patricia Louise Hall and husband Ricky Lee Hall, Sr. of Arnoldsburg, Paula Denise King and husband Paul Glen King of Millstone, Teresa Sue Marks of Salem, and Brenda Hicks of Belpre, Ohio. two brothers, John Ray Marks of Medina, Ohio, and Billy Joe Marks of Grantsville; four sisters, Barbara Bush and Connie McCartney both of Grantsville, Mae Lemon of LeCanto, Florida and Erma Sinns of Cleveland, Ohio; 10 grandchildren, Sabrina, Brittany and Trenton King, Michelle, Ricky, Jr. and Stephanie Hall, David, Brandon and Jacob Marks, Stephanie Stout, and Rebecca Hicks.
He was preceded in death by twin sons, Larry and Jerry Marks; paternal grandparents, Fred and Mina Rush Marks, and maternal grandparents, Dave and Orpha Schoolcraft Poling.

Rev. Dorsey Marks, 99, of Orrville, Ohio, died Saturday, Dec. 14, 2002, at
Dunlap Hospital, Orrville.
He was born at Leatherbark, Calhoun County, the son of the late Thomas. G. and
Alice Pierpoint Marks. He was an ordained Baptist minister for over 50 years and
pastored churches in several counties in West Virginia. He had a radio ministry
in Spencer and was a member of Spencer Tabernacle.
Surviving are four sons, Grover Marks of Pennsylvania, Albert Marks of Orrville,
Ronald Marks of Seville, Ohio, and Gene Marks of Middleburg Heights, Ohio; eight
grandchildren; and several great- and great-great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his first wife of one year, Pearl Wagner Marks
(Grover's mother); his second wife of 73 years, Sylvia Sawyer Marks; one son,
Denzil Marks; one great-granddaughter, Becky Quick; four brothers; and two
sisters.
Services were held at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Garry
Bowen and Rev. Leon Strickland officiating. Burial was in Gandee Chapel/Ward
Cemetery.

Emilie Harris Marks, 71, of Wooster, Ohio, formerly of Calhoun County, died Thursday, Jan. 4, 2007, at Smithville Western Nursing Home.
She was the daughter of the late Hatzel and Lelah Leach. She attended Full Gospel Church, Canal Fulton, Ohio, for over 20 years.
Surviving are her husband, Virgil "Red" Marks; seven children she had with her first husband of 42 years, the late George Lee Harris, whom she married in February, 1955, Kathleen Harris and Phyllis Vannoy, both of Mt. Zion; Audrey Smith of Grantsville; Roger Harris and Jimmie Harris, both of Wooster, Ohio; Janet Norris of Smithville, Ohio, and Kenny Harris of Wooster, Ohio, a grandson raised as a son; 18 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; three step-children, Michael Green of North Carolina, Bonnie Mucklow of Florida and Patty Marshall of Alabama; 15 step-grandchildren; and one sister, Leah Garrett of Millstone.
She was preceded in death by one granddaughter, Kacy Michelle Harris.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev Cleston Garrett officiating. Burial was in Sycamore Baptist Church Cemetery, Millstone.

Ernest V. Marks, 96, of Mt. Zion, died Wednesday, Oct. 18, 2000, at Minnie Hamilton
Health Care Center.
He was the son of the late Isaac Clinton and Sarah Frances Hall Marks. He was a
farmer and a member of Cremo Community Church.

Elsie Greta Marks, 85, of Pine Creek, died Thursday, Jan. 18, 2007, in Charleston General Hospital.
She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late Cleo and Phelma Hathaway Gainer. She was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church, where she had been a Sunday School teacher and active with youth and WSCS.
Surviving are two daughters, Lola Clark and husband Jack and Karen Boatright and husband Roland, all of Grantsville; two sisters, Wanza Marsh and Emma Wease, both of Grantsville; one brother, Delbert "Bo" Gainer of Grantsville; five grandchildren, Crystal Knotts, Chad Ferguson, Shaun Ferguson, Jerry Marks and Daniel Boatright; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Blaine Marks; one son, Gary Marks; one sister, Delma Whytsell; and one brother, Jennings "Buck" Gainer.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Rick Swearengin, Rev. Mike Worf and Rev. Donzel Wease officiating. Burial was in St. Paul Cemetery.

Hazel B. Marks, 95, died Wednesday, Nov. 29, 2000, in Baltimore, Md., where she had
resided for several years.
She was born in Grantsville, the daughter of the late Jesse J. Tuttle and Ruie Barnes
Tuttle Sturm. She spent her early life in Grantsville, later moved to Millstone, and
lived in Lower Salem, Ohio, for 54 years before moving to Baltimore.
Surviving are one daughter, Kathleen S. Alberti of Baltimore; three sons, Denzil R.
Schoolcraft and Frederick F. Schoolcraft, both of Ellenboro, N.C., and William D.
Schoolcraft of Greensboro, N.C.; one brother, Clay Sturm, Jr., of Grantsville; one
sister,
Virginia Snow of Mt. Airy, N.C.; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and a
number of nephews and nieces.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Cecil E. Schoolcraft, and second
husband, Smith Marks; one daughter, Elizabeth Ann Schoolcraft; and two brothers,
Arnold Barnes and E. Foster Tuttle.
Services were held at Mt. Zion United Methodist Church with Rev. Rick Swearingen
officiating. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Hobert Kesley Marks, 72, of Duck, West Virginia, passed away August 20, 2007 at Sunbridge of Glenville following an extended illness.
Born in Braxton County, he was a son of Charles Edward and Virgie Byard Marks. He was a US Navy veteran, mechanic and a former construction worker.
Surviving are his wife, Phyllis Jean Jarvis Marks; son, Edward of Doylestown, Ohio; daughter, Carol Ann Wetzel of Lake Milton, Ohio; 3 brothers, Wesley Marks of Elmira, Richard Marks of Servia, and Ronnie Marks of North Canton, Ohio; 2 sisters, Ermal Vaughn of Chloe, and Christine Wriston of Duck; 3 grandchildren, Matthew, Dominic, and Jessica Ann.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Saturday, August 25 at the Elmira Baptist Church. Rev. Dewey Tanner will officiate. Interment will be in the Elmira Cemetery.

Surviving are his wife of 49 years, Eva Basnett Marks; one daughter, Debbie Murphy and husband Jim of Mt. Zion; one son, William Daniel Marks and wife Stacy of Mt. Zion; three sisters, Marie Adkins of Doylestown, Ohio, Waneta Helmick of Clinton, Ohio, and Lorraine Myers of Mt. Zion; one brother, Gordie Marks of Harrisville; one granddaughter, Deva Murphy Wooden of Martinsville, Va.; two grandsons, Quentin Murphy and Danny Marks, both of Mt. Zion; one great-grandson, Hendrix Hardman of Mt. Zion; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Foster Marks in 1980 and Alva Starcher in 2005.

Wanza Gainer Marsh, 79, of Grantsville, died Monday, Jan. 22, 2007, at Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center.
She was born near Grantsville, the daughter of the late Cleo and Phelma Hathaway Gainer. She graduated from Calhoun County High School in 1944 and attended Glenville State College. She retired June 1, 1990, from B.F. Goodrich as stockroom supervisor. She was active in her community and church, and was a correspondent for The Calhoun Chronicle and secretary for Calhoun Homes, Inc., for many years. She was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church for many years and was a member of Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.
Surviving are two daughters, Deborah Marsh of Davisville and Marsha Marsh of Simpsonville, S.C.; one sister, Emma Wease of Grantsville; one brother, Delbert "Bo" Gainer of Grantsville; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vilas C. Marsh; two sisters, Delma Whytsell and Greta Marks; and one brother, Jennings "Buck" Gainer.
Services will be held Thursday, 11 a.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Rick Swearengin officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery, Pine Creek. He was born in Parkersburg, the son of Bernice Ruth Hall Matheney of Newton and the late James Willard Matheney. He was the owner of Garry A. Matheney Construction Co., and was a farmer and trader. He was a member of Linden Lodge No. 83, AF&AM, Linden, and Local No. 37, IUOE, Cumberland, Md.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Kathy J. Matheney; one daughter, Stacy Engle of Spencer; one son, Scott Matheney of Spencer; and two brothers, Terry Matheney and David Matheney, both of Newton.
He was preceded in death by an infant sister, Mary Lou Matheney.

Harry D. Matheny, 88, of Elizabeth, died Tuesday, Jan. 11, 2005, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Wood County, the son of the late James and Anna Mae Stienhoff Matheny. He was a World War II veteran of the U.S. Army and retired from Corning Glass after 30 years of service. He was owner of Matheny-Pomroy Funeral Home, a farmer, and a member of Beulah Humble Presbyterian Church, where he served as elder and Sunday School superintendent. He served as county commissioner of Wirt County for 18 years.
Surviving are children, James and Judith Matheny of Elizabeth; four brothers, Robert Matheny and Delbert Matheny, both of Mineral Wells, and Roy Matheny and Billy Matheny, both of Parkersburg; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one brother, June Townsend of Parkersburg; several nieces and nephews; five step-grandchildren, including Stephanie Parsons of Grantsville; two step-great-grandsons; and three foster great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janice Juanita Mace Matheny in 2003; one brother, Richard; and one sister, Beulah Caltrider.

formerly been employed as a mechanic and as a body shop manager for Wharton
Cadillac for over 20 years. For the last 23 years, he worked as a mechanic for Exel,
Washington, W.Va. He was a member of Broadway Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Marjorie R. Bush Mathess; two daughters, Jacklyn D. "Jackie"

William J. "Bill" Mathews, 87, of Vienna, died Wednesday, Aug. 23, 2006, at his residence.
He was born in Grantsville, the son of the late William James and Bess Williams Mathews, Sr. He graduated from Parkersburg High School and was a U.S. Navy veteran of World War II. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and remained in the military reserves for 29 years until his retirement as a Lt. Colonel. He was a member of American Legion Post 15 and Veterans of Foreign Wars. He worked for W.Va. Dept. of Highways, retiring after 41 years of service. He was a member of Eureka Masonic Lodge 40, Grantsville, 32nd degree Scottish Rite Bodies, Charleston, and Nemesis Shrine, Parkersburg. He was a member of Salvation Army advisory board, American Red Cross and Vienna Baptist Church, where he was a deacon, member of Men's Chorus, and founding member of Men's Quartet.
Surviving are his wife of 66 years, Mary Anita Hathaway Mathews; two sons, Ret. Col. John R. Mathews of Washington and David M. Mathews of Johnstown, Ohio; four daughters, Sallie M. Romano of Clarksburg, Linda Towner of Washington, Marty Rhodes of Vienna and Liz Yatrakis of Lausanne, Switzerland; 13 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Matthew Foster Mathews.

Ruby Jarvis May, 93, of Spencer, died Monday, Feb. 18, 2008, at Miletree Center, Spencer.
She was born in Stinson, the daughter of the late Nelson and Lora Hicks Jarvis.
She had lived in New York, Colorado and California until returning to Spencer in 1957. She worked various jobs, including care giving to the sick and elderly.
Surviving are one sister, Eva Parsons of Spencer, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James May; one infant son; three sisters, Mae Moss, Violet Smith and Myrtle Lauber; and three brothers, Harry, Cecil and Ernest Jarvis.
Services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m., at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Tom Fletcher officiating. Burial will be in Lamb Cemetery, near Stinson. Visitation will be held two hours prior to services at the funeral home.

He was born in Wirt County, the son of the late Lawrence Calvin and Ollie Kemp Maze. He was retired from Woodlake Apartments and was a taxidermist for several years. He was a member of Hartley Church of Christ, Brohard.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn Kinney Maze; four sons, James Maze of St. Cloud, Fla., Lew Maze of Belmont, William (Sam) Maze of Palm Bay, Fla., and Scott Maze of Travis Air Force Base, Calif.; three daughters, Beth Petters of West Melbourne, Fla., Paula Dunn of Lenoir, N.C., and Mary Maze of Orlando, Fla.; one brother, Virgil H. Basil "Rex" McCartney, 77, of Grantsville, died Saturday, Apr. 29, 2006.
He was born in Fairview, the youngest son of the late Otis D. and Rebecca Goff McCartney. He was retired from the Town of Grantsville, where he served as chief of police for 32 years. He was a member of Eureka Lodge No. 40, a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason, and Grantsville Chapter 73, Order of Eastern Star. He attended First Baptist Church, Grantsville.
Surviving are four daughters, Janice Metheney and Jill McCartney, both of Statesville, N.C., and Joyce Underwood and husband Dave and Jennifer Albright and husband Chad, all of Grantsville; eight grandchildren, James Hall, Chris Metheney, Chad and Ryan Underwood, Daniel and David Whitlow, Jeffery Skidmore and Katie Albright; one brother, Rood McCartney; and two sisters, Eda Sparks and Freda Bellomy.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Virginia "Faustine" Duskey McCartney; eight brothers; and one sister.

Delano F. McCartney, 69, of Calcutta, Ohio, died Tuesday, Apr. 20, 2004, at East Liverpool City Hospital, Ohio.
He was born in Grantsville, the son of Coe M. Hickman McCartney of Calcutta and the late O.G. McCartney. He worked for 22 years at the former American Vitrified and retired in 1992 from Ohio Edison's Sammis Plant as an auxiliary tender.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife, Nina B. Godfrey McCartney, whom he married on Dec. 27, 1955; two sons, Michael D. McCartney of Marietta, Ohio, and Terry R. McCartney of East Liverpool; two brothers, Ersel McCartney of East Liver-pool and Ethan McCartney of Streetsboro, Ohio; and three grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Parker McCartney, and one sister, Ureta Simpson.
Services were held at Calcutta Chapel of Martin MacLean Altmeyer Funeral Home with Rev. Ralph Compa officiating. Burial was in United Presbyterian Cemetery, Calcutta.

Frank McCartney, 78, of Morgantown, died Friday, Mar. 7, 2008, in Monongalia General Hospital, Morgantown.
He was born on his mother's birthday in Lake Lynn, near Morgantown, the son of the late Lloyd and Georgia Stump McCartney.
He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War and retired as a barge loader after 27 years of service with the former Green Bag Cement Co. He was a member of the Monongalia Lodge #10, IOOF, Orphan Friend Encampment #14, Patriarchs Militant Canton #3, Ancient Mystic Order of Samaritans #276, and Laurel Ridge Hunting Club. He was president of Triune Senior Citizens. He joined Rush Run Baptist Church, Calhoun County, in 1947 and had been attending Faith Baptist Church, Morgantown.
Surviving are his wife of 57 years, Lenora Lawson McCartney, whom he married Jan. 12, 1951; three children, Diane J. Hevner, William D. "Bill" McCartney and Douglas K. McCartney, all of Morgantown; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; two brothers, Foster McCartney and Eugene McCartney, both of Morgantown; two sisters, Carolyn Matthew of Reedsville and Linda McFadden of Gans, Pa.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by one great-grandson, Corey Maxon, and five sisters, Emily Petrich, Emmajean Pearl McCartney, Ruth Schiffbauer, Edith Saylor and Mary Daugherty.
Services were held at Hastings Funeral Home, Morgantown, with Pastor Bennie Moran officiating. Burial was in Beverly Hills Memorial Gardens, Westover, with flag folding ceremonies conducted by members of the W.Va. National Guard Honor Guard of Camp Dawson, Kingwood. Memorial service was held by Monongalia Lodge #10 at the funeral home.

DR. HUNTER PELL McCARTNEY
Dr. Hunter Pell McCartney, 83, died Monday, Mar. 5, 2007.
He was born at Index, the 15th child of 19 fathered by Sylvanus Armstrong McCartney and the eighth of 12 born to Sylvanus and Alice Goff McCartney. He attended a one-room school in Gilmer County and graduated from Tanner High School. After attending Glenville State College for one year, he earned his AB from West Virginia University and his MA and PhD degrees from University of Pennsylvania. He was a schoolteacher and former employee of General Electric, Burroughs, and IBM.
He was a former combat infantryman with the 36th Armored Infantry Regiment of the Third Armored Division during World War II and was involved in five military campaigns in the European Theater of Operations: Normandy, Northern France, Central Europe, Ardennes (Bulge), and Ruhr Valley. He was discharged as a sergeant and was later commissioned in the U.S. Army Reserve and discharged as a captain.
A professor of journalism at West Virginia University for 22 years, he was head of the Public Relations Dept. until retiring in 1989, and was active in national public relations and journalism organizations, holding offices and contributing to professional journals. He was twice named outstanding educator in Perley Isaac Reed School of Journalism.
An elder and trustee of First Presbyterian Church, Morgan-town, he was a past board member of the local Red Cross chapter, Monongalia County Historical Society, Shack Neighborhood House, and Meals On Wheels program, where he was a volunteer driver for many years. He was a past member of Tau Kappa Epsilon social fraternity, and BPOE, and a member of Morgan-town Rotary Club, where he was a multiple Paul Harris Fellow.
In 1950, he married Diane Ferry, who died of cancer in 1996, after 46 years of marriage. They had four children, Deborah and James, both of Morgantown, Nancy of Raleigh, N.C., and Alice of Greensboro, N.C.; four grandchildren; and one great-grandson. In 1998, he married Betty Pingley Crickard of Morgantown, who is the mother of Jennifer Crickard Tschetter and one granddaughter of Brookings, S.D.
Also surviving are two sisters, Myrtle Roberts of Stumptown and Margaret Kent of Machipongo, Va., and two brothers, Sull McCartney of Glenville and Donald McCartney of Stumptown.
Cremation services will be provided by Hastings Funeral Home. Visitation will be held Thursday, 5 to 8 p.m. Memorial service will be held Friday, 11 a.m., with Rev. John Sonneday and Rev. Chris Haig officiating. Burial will be in East Oak Grove Cemetery.

Michael Earl McCartney, 58, died Friday, Feb. 1, 2008, in Cleveland Clinic, Cleveland, Ohio.
He was born in Pittsburgh, Pa., the son of Georgia Pearl Stalnaker McCartney Burke and the late Col. Loren "Buck" McCartney.
He graduated from Glenville High School and Glenville State College, where he was president of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He was a former Marine and served with the 305th Army Reserves. He retired after 31 years as a teacher at Calhoun County High School, where he had been a football and wrestling coach and had served as faculty senate president. He was president of midget league football and wrestling programs in Calhoun and was a former town council member. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Grantsville, and a Sunday School teacher, and a member of Masonic Lodge 40 and the Society of Sons of the Revolution.
Surviving are his mother, who resided with him; his wife of 28 years, Patsy Gherke McCartney; one daughter, Carri Leann Catapano of Columbus, Ohio; two sons, Eric Michael McCartney of Myrtle Beach, S.C., and Travis Shane McCartney of Lexington Park, Md.; one grandson, Michael Ian Catapano; two brothers, Patrick McCartney of Oak Harbor, Wash., and Kevin "Terry" McCartney of Alliance, Ohio; one sister, Kathleen Gilbert of Eldersburg, Md.; and several nieces and nephews.

He attended Calhoun County schools and graduated from Lewis County High School and Buckhannon Welding School. He was a certified welder. He had worked at Foodland in Grantsville and was most recently working at Foodland in Glenville in the meat department.

She was born at Sycamore, the daughter of the late James and Emma Barr Wilson. She
and her husband, Paul McCoy, owned and operated retail establishments in Smithville
for 42 years. She was a member of Smithville Baptist Church.
Surviving are one son, Jim McCoy; four grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren
and great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband; one daughter, Mary Margaret Brooks; two
sisters, Georgia Foster and Hope Nicholas; four brothers, Brown, Clyde, Ray and Glenn
Wilson; one grandson, James Charles McCoy; one great-granddaughter, Eve Thomas;
and several nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Carroll McCauley
officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery, near Grantsville.

He was born in Calhoun County, the son of the late John Ira and Virginia Riggs McCoy. He retired from Parkersburg Rig & Steel after 37 years of service. He was a member of Porterfield Baptist Church, Porterfield Community Club and Belpre Senior Citizens.
Surviving are his wife, Murrell Smith Bush McCoy; three daughters, Bernita Werner of Belpre, Carolyn Ratliff of Little Hocking, Ohio, and Alice Shanks of Coolville; one son, Ronald McCoy of Belpre; two step-daughters, Nancy Mullins of Ravenswood and Sondra Carr of Stuart, Fla.; one step-son, Thomas Bush of Austintown, Ohio; one brother, Gene McCoy of Belpre; one sister, Bessie Anderson of Arizona; 16 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; 10 step-grandchildren; 21 step-great-grandchildren; 3 step-great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Geraldine G. Stevens McCoy; one son, Steve McCoy; one step-grandson, Michael Miller; four brothers, Ernest, Eddie, Hollie and George McCoy; and two sisters, Thelma Roach and Myrtle Weaver.

Ruby Glen McCoy, 97, of Belpre, Ohio, died Monday, Apr. 7, 2008, at Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital.
He was born in Hur, the son of the late John Ira and Virginia Riggs McCoy.
He was formerly employed with O'Ames as a maintenance foreman and retired from W.Va. board of education as a bus operator. He was active in Belpre Senior Citizens Association.
Surviving are one daughter, Norma J. Kemp of Belpre; one sister, Bessie Anderson of Phoenix, Ariz.; one granddaughter; two great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.
He was preceded in death by his first wife, Elizabeth Almira Whytsell McCoy, in 1984; his second wife, Mary Stump McCoy; two sisters, Myrtle Weaver and Thelma Roach; and five brothers, Howard, George, Edward, Ernest and Holly McCoy.
Memorial services will be held Thursday, 7 p.m., at Belpre Senior Citizens Center, 1614 Washington Blvd., Belpre, with Chaplain David Kaufman officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the center.

She was a longtime resident of Cuyahoga Falls and was employed as a cashier at Rex Salvage for 28 years. She was a faithful member of Victory Chapel Church in Akron and loved people and loved to help others.
Surviving are her husband of 38 years, Gregory McCoy, to whom she devoted her life; one son, Eric McCoy and his fiancée Tina Price; step-grandchildren, Brendan, Jason and Jeremy Price; one brother, John Miller of Kentucky; and five sisters, Mary Yoak of Waterford Ohio, Carolyn Ray of Creston, Genevieve Miller of Marshallville, Ohio, Darleen Lott of Williamstown, and Tina Jones of Nobe.

Charles W. "Bill" McCray, 82, of Parkersburg died Monday, Oct. 1, 2007, at Ohio Valley Health Care.
He was born at Brohard, the son of the late Charles H. McCray and Ethel G. McIntyre McCray Goodnight. He was a U. S. Army veteran of World War II where he served in the Philippine Islands and was the recipient of the Bronze Star and the Purple Heart
He retired from Corning Glass after 48.5 years service. He was a member of South Parkersburg Baptist Church, American Legion Post 15 and a 50 year member of the Masonic Lodge No. 3.
Surviving is his wife of 61 years, Gertrude Stump McCray; one sister, Eleanor Gifford of Parkersburg; one brother, Johnnie Goodnight of Brohard; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two brothers, Russell and Arnold McCray.
Services were scheduled 1 p.m. Wednesday at the Leavitt Funeral Home, Parkersburg, with Pastor Joe Busch and Pastor Frank Miller officiating and burial in Mount Olivet Cemetery.

Harry B. McCumbers, 73, died Wednesday, Nov. 21, 2007, at St. Joseph's Hospital, Parkersburg.
He was the son of the late Belle and Willie McCumbers of Orma. He retired from the West Virginia Department of Highways in 1990, with 22 years of service. He had also worked as a coal miner, timber cutter and for State Construction.
Surviving are his wife of 51 years, Ruby Helen Tucker McCumbers, whom he married on Dec. 11, 1955; three sons, Dean McCumbers of Palestine, Larry McCumbers of Elizabeth and Jimmy McCumbers of Parkersburg; three daughters, Judy Paquette and Nancy Shaver, both of Parkersburg, Peggy Gant of Leroy; 10 grandchildren several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; and one brother, Harrison McCumbers.
He was preceded in death by one brother, Harold McCumbers.
Services were held Saturday at Matheny-Whited Funeral Home, Elizabeth, Rev. Bob Stanley and Pastor Danny Schreckengost officiating. Graveside services were held at Pisgah United Methodist Church Cemetery.

He was a former oil field worker and carpenter. He and his brother, Norville, were the subject of a feature article in "Wild Wonderful West Virginia" magazine.

Bernard McDonald, 96, of Mt. Zion, died Monday, Sept. 10, 2001, at his home.
He was born at Mt. Zion, the son of the late Clay and Nancy McDonald. He
attended West Virginia University and Salem College. He was elected in1930 to a
four-year term as Calhoun County superintendent of schools. He taught in
one-room schools throughout Calhoun. He operated a farm since 1925 and was
employed by W.Va. Dept. of Weights and Measures and Calhoun County ASC. He
retired in 1970 from U.S. Dept. of Agriculture.
Surviving are one son, Daniel Clay McDonald; two daughters, Cathleen McDonald of
Athens, Ohio, and Judy McDonald Jarvis of Mt. Zion; 10 grandchildren; and 12
great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Orr McDonald, in 2000; one brother,
Dewitt McDonald; one sister, Denna McDonald; and one grandson, Kenneth McDonald.
Graveside services will be held Friday, 2 p.m., at Mt. Zion Cemetery. Visitation
will be on Thursday, 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home,
Arnoldsburg.

DANIEL CLAY McDONALD
Daniel Clay McDonald, 81, of Calhoun County, died Tuesday, Nov. 20, 2007, at Memorial Hospital in Charleston.
He was born in Calhoun County, Nov. 13, 1926, the son of the late Bernard and Mary McDonald. He graduated from Calhoun High School, joined the Army, and attended West Virginia University. He and his wife raised their children in Fairfax County, Va, where he worked for General Motors, as an instructor and as regional service manager and executive.
He was president of the Little Kanawha Area Development Corporation; founding member of the Little Kanawha Area Community Foundation; member of Calhoun County Building Commission; and board member of the Little Kanawha Parkway Authority; he served as Republican county chairman for many years, and worked for the party at county, state, and national levels.
Surviving are two sons, Robert Gary, and Ronald Orr; one daughter, Laura Kay; two sisters, Cathleen McDonald and Julia Jarvis; six grandchildren and one great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 55 years, Mary Jane and one son Kenneth Eric.
Services were held Saturday, Nov. 24, 2007 at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Louise Douglas Butler McDonald, 96, of Charleston, formerly of Grantsville, died
Wednesday, Apr. 3, 2002.
She was born in Oak Grove, Ky., the daughter of the late John M. and Mary B.
Steger Butler. She attended public schools in Kentucky and graduated from North
Texas State Normal College, now the University of North Texas, with a degree in
education.
She taught at Calhoun County High School for many years, was a member of Knotts
memorial United Methodist Church, and was active in civic and community affairs
in Calhoun County from 1931-1996. She was a life member of Grantsville Chapter
73, Order of Eastern Star, a former member of the regional board of the state
library commission and a member of the former Woman's Civic Club of the General
Federation of Woman's Clubs.
Surviving are one daughter, Nancy L. Street of Charleston; one son, Robert F.
McDonald of New York, N.Y.; four grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dewitt C. McDonald, and her husband,
Logan McDonald, and their sons, James L., in 1964, and John B., in 1973.
Services were held at Knotts Memorial U.M. Church.

She was born in Brownsville, Pa., the daughter of the late Asa and Addie Orr. She

taught school in a one-room school at Mt. Zion and later at Calhoun County High
School, and served as a substitute teacher throughout the county.
Surviving are her husband of 75 years, Bernard McDonald; one son, Dan McDonald of
Sycamore; two daughters, Cathleen McDonald of Athens, Ohio, and Judy McDonald
Jarvis of Mt. Zion; 11 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister, four brothers, and one grandson.

She was the daughter of the late Charles and Laura Boldin and a native of Northern Virginia. In 1987, she and her husband, Dan, a native of Calhoun County, retired from corporate life, and moved back to Calhoun. She was a member of Minnie Hamilton Health Care Center Ladies Auxiliary, in which she served one term as secretary, and was known as the “Cookie Lady,” a member of Family Resource Network, and had been one of two delegates from Calhoun to Mid-Ohio Valley Regional Health Dept. Committee.
Surviving are her husband, Dan; two sons, Gary and Ron; one daughter, Laura; and six grandchildren, Donna, Amber, Crystal, Michael, Jack and Jesse.
She was preceded in death by one son, Kenny.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville.

She was born at Staten, the daughter of the late Frank and Elfie Barr Fowler. She was a member of First Baptist Church, Grantsville, and Fell Kennedy Sunday School class, and was active with the church women's mission group and served the church in various capacities. She was active in Little Kanawha Baptist Association, having served as president of American Baptist Women for many years. She was honored by the American Cancer Society as a cancer survivor.

Rev. Glendon G. McKee, 89, of Mt. Zion, died Friday, Apr. 16, 2004, at his home.
He was born at Millstone, the son of the late George and Nora Ball McKee. He was a former employee of Spencer State Hospital, Spencer, and American Viscose Co., Parkersburg. After being called into the ministry, he enrolled in Glenville State College and accepted the ministry to a charge of 11 churches in the Glenville-Normantown circuit. After graduation from college, he returned to Calhoun County where he pastored churches until his health failed. He preached Christ's message for 55 years. He was a teacher for 30 years in the Calhoun County school system. He began in a one- room school and taught English at Calhoun County High School for 29 years.
Surviving are his wife of 65 years, Eupha Hicks McKee; one son, Rev. Roger G. McKee and wife Wilma of Weston; one daughter, Roanna M. Stump and husband John of Grantsville; one brother, Gordon McKee and wife Mary of Millstone; two sisters, Lenell Stalnaker and husband Paul and Arleta Sturm and husband Carl, all of Millstone; six grandchildren, Rhonda Krugman and husband Tom of Painted Post, N.Y., J. He was born in Canton, Ohio, the son of Inez Madge Houchin McKown of Minnora and the late Harley McKown. He was a member of Praise Cathedral, Ravenswood, where he served as maintenance elder. He was employed for 38 years at DuPont-Washington Works, Wood County, as mechanic, machine shop foreman and supervisor. He had been a member of Parkersburg South Jaycees and National Rifle Association.
Surviving in addition to his mother are his wife of 42 years, Rebecca Grace Fetty McKown; one daughter, Lisa Dawn McKown Kulick of Reynoldsburg, Ohio; one son, Darren Edward McKown of Heath, Ohio; two sisters, Shirley Jett of Doylestown, Ohio, and Karen Ellison of Minnora; two brothers, Bradley McKown of Orma and Wendell McKown of Minnora; two grandchildren; two step-grandsons; and many nieces and nephews.
Services were held at Praise Cathedral, with Rev. Scott Dale officiating. Burial was in Bethlehem Cemetery, near Grantsville.

G. H. (Harley) McKown, 86, of Beech, died Wednesday, Aug. 4, 2004, at his residence.
He was the son of the late Kenna J. and Addie Norman McKown. He was a Christian and attended Milo Community Church, Minnora, and was a member of the former Minnora IOOF Lodge.
Surviving are his wife of 67 years, Madge Houchin McKown; three sons, Donald McKown and wife Becky of Murraysville and Bradley McKown and wife Brenda and Wendell McKown and wife Chris, all of Orma; two daughters, Shirley Jett and husband Calvin of Doylestown, Ohio, and Karen Ellison and husband Steve of Orma; 12 grandchildren; 17 great-grandchildren; one brother, Oris McKown of Florida; and one sister, Mazel Faye Pignard of Texas.
He was preceded in death by four brothers, Denver, Thurman, Cleddie and Donald McKown; one sister, Hazel Bowers; and two grandsons.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Burial was in Bailey Cemetery.

Lee J. McKown, Jr. 83, of Arnoldsburg, died Thursday, June 28, 2007, at Roane General Hospital.
He was born in Beech, the son of the late Lee J. and Vada Hall McKown. He was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II and a timberman, pipeliner and W.Va. Dept. of Highways worker.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Marie Hall McKown; seven daughters, Frances Greathouse, Donna Butler and husband Clarence, all of Arnoldsburg, Patty Dickey and husband George of Nicut, Joyce Newell and husband Paul of Orma, Sherry Dalo and husband Dave of Canton, Ohio, Judy Schartiger and husband Rodney of Shock and Sandra Butler and husband Paul of Minnora; five sons, James and wife Karen, Eddie and wife Debbie, Johnny, Jerry and wife Barbara and Mike and wife Diana, all of Arnoldsburg; five sisters, Iva Hoskins, Sue Romine, Bonnie Hoffman, Phyllis Spurlock and Barbara Miller; two brothers, Bill and Gene; 25 grandchildren; 16 step-grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; several step-great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by two sons, Eugene and Danny; two brothers, Oval :Gene" and Brice; two grandsons; and two step-grandchildren.
Services were held at Taylor-Vandale Funeral Home, Spencer, with Rev. Rick Metheney officiating. Burial was in Road Run Cemetery, near Arnoldsburg, with military graveside rites by local veterans.

Mae Newell McKown, 91, of Walker, died Monday, Feb. 24, 2003, in Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital, Parkersburg.
She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late Tom and Francis Parsons Newell. She was a former employee of American Viscose Co., Parkersburg, a co-operator of the family store at Orma for several years, and a member of Kanawha Baptist Church.
Surviving are two sons, Gary McKown of West Chester, Pa., and David McKown of Germantown, Md.; two grandchildren, Cathy Perez of Denver, Colo., and James McKown of Boulder, Colo.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Leon "Onnie" McKown, in 1995; eight brothers; and one sister.
Services will be held Saturday, 2 p.m., at Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg, with Rev. Jim Yoak officiating. Burial will be in Orma United Methodist Church Cemetery. Visitation at the funeral home will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday and one hour prior to services.

Vera Myrl McLaughlin, 84, of Williamstown, died Wednesday, Aug. 16, 2006, at Marietta, Ohio.
She was born at Washburn, Ritchie County, the daughter of the late Newton and Letha Kyer Elliott. She was a stockholder and employee of the former Mid-Atlantic Glass, Ellenboro. She was a former member of Wesley United Methodist Church, Ellenboro, and attended Marietta Bible Center.
Surviving are two sons, Harold Payton and Paul Payton, both of Williamstown; one sister, Beulah Heffner of Big Springs; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Howard Payton, in 1963; her second husband, Harry McLaughlin, in 1971; and three sisters, Bessie Britton, Lucy Slaven and Mary Tingler.
Services were held at McCullough-Rogers Funeral Home, Pennsboro, with Pastor Myron Guiler officiating. Burial was in Masonic Cemetery, Ellenboro.

Burrows Radabaugh. She was a homemaker and a member of Second Baptist Church,
Martinsburg.
Surviving are one daughter, Edda Barnes of Martinsburg; one foster daughter,
Juanita Malcum of Belpre, Ohio; two grandchildren; three great-grandchildren;
one great-great-grandchild; and two foster grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Simon Roberts; her second
husband, Albert McMillin; one daughter, Geniece Roberts; and one grandson,
Terance Barnes.
Services were held at Stump Funeral Home, Grantsville, with Rev. Ronzel Roberts
and Rev. Lorous Roberts officiating. Burial was in Nobe Cemetery.

Ronald William "Bill" McMillin, 67, of Hildebran, N.C., died Wednesday, Aug. 23,
2000, at Frye Regional Medical Center.
He was born in Troy, the son of the late Albert B. and Ruby Tanner McMillin. He was
retired from United Airlines after 38 years of service working at the Operations Control
Center as an aircraft router. He was a member of Hildebran Lions Club and First
Baptist Church, Hildebran.
Surviving are his wife, Ruby Brittain McMillin; one son, Petty Officer Todd William
Brittain McMillin, Virginia Beach, Va.; one daughter, Linda B. Frahm of Palatine, Ill.:
one sister, Marian L. Radabaugh of Hazlet, N.J.; and two grandchildren.
Services were held at First Baptist Church, Hildebran, with Rev. Ron Arndt officiating.
Burial was in the church cemetery.

Matlack Trucking Co. She was a member of Arnoldsburg Community Church.
Surviving are her husband, Dennis McNamara, and one brother, Jeff Carpenter of
Millstone.
Joint services were held for Mrs. McNamara and her mother, Madeline Carpenter, at
Stump Funeral Home, Arnoldsburg. Burial was in Sycamore Baptist Church Cemetery,
Millstone.

Heartha Divers McQuain, 93, of Clarksburg, died Sunday, Sept. 14, 2003, at her residence.
She was born in Calhoun County, the daughter of the late William and Dora Mae Bennett Divers. She was a graduate of Victory High School, Clarksburg, and had worked at Hazel Atlas Glass Co. She was a member of United Methodist Temple Church, Clarksburg. For the last three years, she was cared for by Clutter's 24-Hour Care.
Surviving are a niece, Betty Frush of Clarksburg, and several cousins, including Lenora Nicholas of Morgantown, Gary and Jo Ann Nicholas of Jane Lew, and Myra Lowe Martis of Morgantown.
The last surviving member of her immediate family, she was preceded in death by her husband, Richard McQuain; one infant sister; and one brother, Lane Divers.
Services were held at Davis Funeral Home, Nutter Fort, with Rev. Joy Butcher-Winfree officiating. Burial was in Sunset Memorial Park, Mt. Clare.

She was born on Grass Run, Ritchie County, the daughter of the late Erma and Violet Gill Richards. She graduated from Calhoun County High School and was a member of Chapel Baptist Church, Nobe.
Surviving are her husband, Wilbert McWilliams; four sons, Jason W. McWilliams of Mineral Wells, Damon E. McWilliams of Normantown, Daniel R. McWilliams of Davisville and Warren L. McWilliams of Lubeck; four sisters, Frances Bush and Charlene Richards, both of Tanner, Phyllis Hoffman of Charleston and Loretta Grimm of Pullman; two brothers, Charles Richards of Tanner Creek and Kenneth Richards of Grantsville; and four grandchildren.
Services will be held Thursday, 1 p.m., at Raiguel Funeral Home, Harrisville, with Rev. Alfred Hickman officiating. Burial will be in Hardman Chapel Cemetery. Visitation was scheduled Wednesday, 6 to 9 p.m., and Thursday, 9 to 11 a.m., at the funeral home.
