The Last Will and Testament of George W. Blake Sr. of Marshall County 
Virginia.

I George W. Blake Sr. considering the uncertainty of this mortal life 
and being of sound mind and memory do make and publish this my last 
will and testament in manner and form following, that is to say first 
I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Sarah Ann Blake one third of 
all my personal estate goods and chattels of what kind and nature 
[?]; and I further give and bequeath unto my said beloved wife the 
use of one third of all my freehold estate whatsoever during her 
widowhood or natural life. Second I will and bequeath to my son 
George W. forty  acres of the land on the side next to S. Hendersons 
land running the whole length of said Hendersons line and for enough 
west to make the forty acres. Third I will and bequeath that the rest 
of my land be equally divided amongst my son John and daughters 
Sarah, Jane, Lavina, Elizabeth, and the heirs of Eliza deceased. And 
lastly, I will and bequeath that the rest of my personal property be 
equally divided between my sons John and George W. and my daughters 
Sarah, Jane, Lavina, Elizabeth and the heirs of Eliza deceased. I 
hereby appoint S. Henderson the Executor of this my last will and 
Testament hereby revoking all former wills by me made. In witness 
whereof  I have hereunto set my hand and seal this eighth day of 
November in the year of our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and 
sixty one.

The above Instrument consisting of our [?] which was now here 
subscribed by George W. Blake the testator in the presence of each of 
us; and was at the same time declared by him to be his last will and 
testament and we at his request sign our names hereunto as attesting 
witnesses.

Virginia:  County Court of Marshall County, April Term 1863
A writing purporting to be the last will and testament of George W. 
Blake Sr. was this day fully proved by the oaths of Wm. E. Parriott & 
Thomas A. Crawford the subscribing witnesses thereto is ordered to be 
recorded. And on the motion of Samuel Henderson the person named as 
Executor of said will who made oath according to law and together 
with John Bell his surety who qualified
