A true copy of the original Test John McCollock COC This Indenture made this fourteenth day of August in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty one between ARCHIBALD WOODS of the County of Ohio and State of Virginia of the one part and DAVID LUTES of the county of Ohio and the state of Virginia of the other part. Witness with that the said ARCHIBALD WOODS for and in consideration of the sum of two hundred and forty-two dollars current money of the United States to him in hand paid the receipt whereof he doth hereby acknowledge and forever acquit and discharge the said DAVID LUTES. Heirs Executors and Administrators have granted bargainmeds? sold enfroffed? and confirmed and by these presents do grant bargain sell enfroffed and confirm to the said DAVID LUTES his Heirs and assigns forever all the tract or parcel of land lying and being in the county of Ohio and the State of Virginia. (Vig?) adjoining land surveyed for ZEPHENIAH BLACKFORD and others and is bounded as followeth (to wit). Beginning at an ash & white oak corner to Blackford’s survey thence with his line S. 20 degrees W 218 poles to spanish oak thence with McIntyre’s line S. 40 - 1/2 E. 77 poles to a hickory thence North seventeen East 282 poles to a sugar tree in Rigs line thence with the same north 70 W. 45 ps. to a hickory thence N. 20 degrees E. 75 poles to a hickory thence leaving Rigs line West 46 ps. to a sugar tree thence S. 20 degrees W. 98 poles to a hickory on Blackfords line thence with the same S. 80 degrees E. 38 poles to the beginning containing one hundred and twenty three acres by survey more or less. Together with all improvements and appurtenances whatsoever to the premises belonging or in anywise appertaining and the (rivers--------?) and profits thereof and all the estate right little interest claims and (---?) made to him the said ARCHIBALD WOODS of in and to the same to have and to hold the lands hereby conveyed with all the premises and every (pan?) and parcel thereof with every of the appurtenances to the said DAVID LUTES his heirs and assigns forever and the said ARCHIBALD WOODS and his heirs all the premises hereby bargained and sold with the appurtenances to the said DAVID LUTES and his heirs and assigns against him the said ARCHIBALD WOODS and his heirs and all and every other person or persons whom so ever will warrant and forever defend by their presents.
