This picture of a very young Sam Cockayne was found in the Cockayne House. It demonstrates the immense talent of the Cockayne Family. How many parents (or perhaps aunts?) would take the time to construct such an elaborate toy for a youngster? While this particular toy is no longer in the Cockayne House, there are several others: a wooden rocking horse, a doll, blocks, a wooden duck. With such exciting finds as this picture, the committee is able to unravel a little more information about the Cockayne Family.
