Bennett Cockayne (center) with his sons, Alexander (left) and Samuel A. J. (right). Bennett built the 1840's farmhouse. Samuel was born in 1841, and the house can be dated by the footprint of a very young Samuel imprinted in the winter kitchen hearth along with the initials: S.A.J.C.
