| To notes and to jackknife initials, |
| To dandelion chains that we wove. |
| Farewell to the cipher and spelldown, |
| Farewell to the recess and play, |
| To marbles and hopscotch and redlight, |
| To Andy (that's over) and sleigh. |
| Farewell to the Little Red Schoolhouse |
| That has graced the valley so long; |
| Now, only our memories can serve us |
