Book 1, page 261 In the name of God, I, Robert J. Davis, of Marshall County and State of Virginia, being weak in body, but of sound mind and memory, do make and publish this my Last Will and Testament, in manner and from following towith. First, I give and bequeath unto my beloved wife Elizabeth all my personal trust estate after all my past debts and funeral expenses is paid during her natural life and after her death. I will and order all my real and personal estate after her debts and funeral expenses is paid to be delivered a following towith: First, I five and bequeath to my son George Davis an equal share of my real and personal estate less one hundred fifty dollars. Second, I give and bequeath to my son Elijah Davis one equal share of all my real and personal estate and two hundred dollars more than an equal if he will come home and take care of his mother during lifetime. Third, I give and bequeath to my son Thomas Davis five dollars and to his heirs, the balance of his equal share, equally divided among all his heirs. Fourthly, I give and bequeath to my son Robert H. Davis an equal share. Fifthly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Sarah McGary one equal share. Sixthly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Susanah Williams one equal share. Seventhly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Mary Richmond one equal share. Eighthly, I give and bequeath to my daughter Nancy Shipley one equal share. Ninthly, I give and bequeath to my three grandsons, Thorton Crow, Harmon Crow, and James M. Crow, one equal share, it being my daughter Elizabeth Crow’s deceased share. And lastly, I will and order my executor to advertise all my real and personal estate and sell the same within three months after my beloved wife’s death and pay the above name (legation?) and following towith one third in three months after the sale and in fifteen months (time?) after another third and in twelve months after the balance. And I hereby appoint my son Robert H. Davis my sole executor of this my last will and testament hereby (making?) all (former?) wills by me made. I witness whereof I have here unto set my hand and seal this thirteenth day of February 1860, sealed, signed, published, and declared by the above named Robert J.
