Margaret "Anna" Parker, the daughter of Irish immigrants, John and Margaret Parker, was born in Ohio. The family was residing in Wheeling, Ohio County, (W) Virginia at the time of the 1850 census. Siblings of M. Anna were William H., age 10, born in England; Mary J., 8, born in Ohio; John E., 3, born in Virginia and Elizabeth V., 1, also born in Virginia. By 1860, two more sons, Joseph and Simon Peter were born.
William H. H. Parker, the brother of M. Anna, served as Lieutenant of Company "B" 8th (W) Virginia Infantry, later designated the 7th West Virginia Cavalry. He was promoted to Captain of Company "H" and was Killed in Action at Droop Mountain, Pocahontas County, West Virginia, 26 Aug 1863. His mother received a government pension in later years.
M. Annie Parker married Joseph Hall on 21 Sep 1869 at Wheeling. At the time of the 1870 census, they were residing with her family, her father John, age 60, a retail grocer. Joseph Hall, born in England, worked in the rolling mill. By 1880 they hd three children, John, Joseph and Ruth Anna. A daughter, (Margaret) Virginia, was listed in the 1900 census. - M. Anna Hall was a widow by 1920.
