HAZEN POST 66 W.VA. G.A.R. January 16, 1894 Whereas it has pleased the Supreme Being of the Universe to remove from our midst our late Commander and Comrade J. L. Knight who departed this life on Dec. 7th. 1893. Whereas the high esteem in which we held our deceased Comrade the members of this Post deem it proper that we should place on record our appreciation of his services as a Soldier and a true comrade of the Grand Army of the Republic. Therefore, be it resolved that while we bow with humble submission to the will of our Great Commander the most High God, that we pray the hand of him that smitest may be a balm for the smitten. Resolved by the reason of the death of our Comrade J. L. Knight that the flag of this Post our National Emblem be draped in mourning for the period of Sixty days: Resolved that these resolutions be entered upon the minutes of the Post and a copy of them by sent to family of our deceased Comrade and that they be published in the St. Marys Oracle.
