Name of County: Pleasants Date of Will: April 8, 1875 Testator: JACOB ARN I, Jacob Arn of Pleasants County, now being in my 63rd year, frail in bodily health but sound in mind make this my last Will & Testament. I give devise and bequeath my estate and property real & personal as follows, that is to say: First. It is my Will and desire that James W. Williamson be and is hereby appointed executor to see that the requirements of this my last Will be enforced. Second. I will and devise to my beloved wife, Mary Arn, all of my real and personal estate to have & to hold the same for her sole use her natural lifetime, that is to say after all my debts are fully paid, out of any money which I may have at my death. Third. After the death of myself & wife, I give & devise my home place to my youngest son Albert Arn to have & to hold the same his heirs and assigns forever on the following conditions that is to say. For & in consideration of this home place above mentioned he is to pay One thousand dollars in the following manner towit. In one year after the death of myself & wife (Mary Arn) It is my will that he (Albert Arn) pay to each of my other sons Jacob Arn, Edward Arn, Levi Arn, John Arn & Francine Arn the sum of One hundred dollars each & then in one year from that time he is to pay to each of said five sons One hundred dollars more, which will include the full amount of the One Thousand dollars which after the payment of said sum of money the said "farm" will "belong" to my "son" Albert. Now should he (Albert Arn) fail or refuse to pay said sum of money as above mentioned. It is then my will & desire that after the death of myself & wife that my estate be sold & divided equally between my six sons Jacob, Edward, Levi, John, Frederic & Albert Arn. But should Albert decide to pay said sum of money as before mentioned then the same to be his. Fourth. It is my will & desire that my son Albert defray the funeral expenses of myself & wife that is to say, should he keep said land if not I will & desire that each one of my sons defray said expenses in equal parts. Fifth. It is my will and desire that each of my sons as before mentioned pay an equal portion of One hundred & Eighty dollars of a debt which I now "ow" to A. Thistel that is to say should I not live to pay said debt myself I also say again that I hereby appoint J. W. Williamson of Pleasants County W.Va. Executor of this my will. In witness whereof I have signed sealed and published and declare this instrument as my will(?) at my residence(?) in Pleasants County West Virginia on this 8th day of April 1875.
