JULIETTE BRAZINSKAS LAUFFER

Class of 1927

Juliette D. Brazinskas, Nurse, was found in the 1927 City Directory of Homestead, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. She was living in the residence of William (and Pauline) Brazinskas of Forest Avenue. Also at the residence were Joseph R., a student, Margaret R., a student, and William L., a laborer.

This family shortened the surname to BRAZIN in some records.

The mother, Vincenta P.(Pauline) (Kluciev) Brazin, born November 22, 1888, died July 25, 1934 at Homestead. Her husband is listed as William, but his name was Vincenti, later William Vincenti. He died in Mercer County, Pennsylvania in 1966. They were both born in Lithuania.

On August 27, 1941, Juliette D. Brazin married Carl Henry Lauffer in Homestead. He was born on February 2, 1912 in Wilkinsburg, Allegheny County, but was a resident of Haines City, Florida where he was a Fruit Grove Caretaker. He had been previously married and his wife died in 1940. His father was a physician, Dr. Charles A. Lauffer, a resident of St. Petersburg, Florida.

The marriage record indicates that Juliette, a Registered Nurse, residing in Homestead, was 28, born August 25, 1912 in Homestead. The year is an error, intentional or otherwise, because she was not 15 when she graduated nursing school. Family genealogies indicate she was born in 1905.

Carl and Juliette Lauffer moved to Florida and then to Mississippi. She died in Gulfport, Harrison County, Mississippi in 1965. Her gravestone at Floral Hills Memorial Gardens in Gulfport, states her birth year as 1912.
