AUGUSTINE M. CALDERONE SANTELLI MORRIS

Augustine M. Calderone, born March 3, 1915 in Vandergrift, Pennsylvania, was the daughter of Antonio Calderone and Phyllis Lamantia.

She was a Lieutenant Commander in the U. S. Navy during World War II. Her service began on August 25, 1941 and ended on August 30, 1947.

Augustine's name was changed to Augustine M. Santelli in September 1952. In August 1984, it was changed to Augustine M. Morris.

The death of Augustine Calderone Santelli Morris, a widow, occurred on October 1, 1999 in Stamford, Fairfield County, Connecticut. She is buried at St. Gertrude Cemetery, Vandergrift, Pa.

In 1999, the St. Francis Medical Center School of Nursing announced the creation of the Augustine Calderone Santelli Morris Scholarship.

OBITUARY: Rocky Mountain News (CO), October 5, 1999 - AUGUSTINE M. MORRIS, 84, of New Canaan, Conn., formerly of Denver, died Oct. 1 in Stamford, Conn. Mrs. Morris was born in Vandergrift, Pa., on March 3, 1915. She was a Navy nurse in World War II. She retired as a registered nurse from St. Francis Hospital in Pittsburgh. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of St. Aloysius Church in New Canaan. Survivors include daughter Linda Santelli Cleveland of Connecticut; sister Annette Shields of Pennsylvania; a grandson.
