OBITUARY: Patricia Ann Subasic, 76, formerly of Clearfield, went to her eternal home in heaven following her passing on March 11, 2017, at the Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio, surrounded by her family and under the ever present care of Jesus. Her faith empowered her through her earthly journey to her final resting place in heaven. A vibrant and active wife, mother, caregiver, missionary of the Eucharistic ministry and friend to so many, Patricia has made an indelible impression in our lives and will be so fondly remembered as her spirit will remain strong with us all. Patricia’s profession as a registered nurse enabled her to pursue her passion of supporting and helping others in their moments of need. Following her graduation from St. Francis High School in Clearfield, she later earned her registered nursing degree from St. Francis School of Nursing launching her career in health care. - Following her retirement from the West Virginia Health Department after 25 years of service, she carried forward with that passion with her volunteer service with St. Vincent de Paul, where she served in a variety of capacities including her leadership of the Altar and Rosary Society and extraordinary ministry among others. She has also served since 1998 until her passing with the Morgan County Interfaith Emergency Care program. - Patricia was loving wife to Frank Subasic for 55 years and proud mother of five children, Frank Subasic Jr. and wife Kim of Clarks Summit, Scott Subasic and wife Alesha of Monrovia, Md., Shawn Subasic and wife Tina of Raleigh, N.C., daughter Kelly Subasic Miller of Downingtown, and Stephen Subasic and wife Kathy of Parkton, Md. - She is survived by 12 grandchildren who so loved their time with her, enjoying time at the beach, spending time together in West Virginia or simply enjoying each other’s company playing cards. - She is also survived by her stepbrother, Mike Reese and his wife Judy of Fargo, N.D., and by many nieces and nephews who have been so special to her. - Patricia always enjoyed special time with her girlfriends and family on special trips to the beach in the Outer Banks or simply searching local shops for unique gifts and "great deals." - She was preceded in death by her parents, Walter Scott Carns and Mary Madeline Reese Carns, both formerly of Clearfield, where Patricia entered this world on Sept. 25, 1940, and her brother, Thomas Carns and his wife Sue Carns. The family will welcome friends in a celebration of her life at Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 95 Union St., Berkeley Springs, W. Va. on Thursday, March 16, from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. where the Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. - Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, March 17, at 10 a.m. at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church, Liberty and South Washington Streets, Berkeley Springs with the Rev. Fr. Leonard A. Smith as celebrant. - Private interment will be at Bethel Cemetery. - Donations may be made in lieu of flowers to the Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy Association, 18 East Main St., Suite 202, Denville, NJ 07834 (http://www.4hcm.org/) - Patricia will forever be remembered for all she has done for so many and for her extraordinary friendship. Moreover, she has entered into the Kingdom of God leaving a family legacy that will carry forward her passion for life, family, faith and community. - The Helsley-Johnson Funeral Home & Cremation Center of Berkeley Springs, W.
