Josephine is not listed with the family in the 1920 & 1930 census records. In 1930, she was listed as a student nurse at Uniontown Hospital. She was the twin of Joseph, Jr. (not in the 1920 census) and they were born Feb 28, 1911. They were from their father's first marriage. Josephine died Dec 19, 1974; Joseph W. Demsko, Jr. died Nov 19, 2008.

December 17, 2000 -- GERTRUDE M. JAMES, 87, of Huntington, died Saturday at home. She was a homemaker and a registered nurse. Surviving are her husband, Dr. Thomas of Huntington; and a son, Keith of Huntington. She was preceded in death by a son, Guy. No services or calling. Private burial. Memorials to St. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, 860 Cherry St., Huntington, IN 46750. Arrangements by Hart Funeral Home, Huntington.

March 6, 2001 -- DR. THOMAS JAMES JR., 84, died Monday at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Born in Vincennes, he retired from his medical practice in 1991. He was a World War II Navy veteran. His wife, Gertrude, died in 2000. Surviving is a son, Keith of Huntington. He was also preceded in death by a son, Guy. No services or calling. Private burial at a later date. Dr. Thomas James Jr., 84, 1044 Poplar St., died at 9:44 a.m. Monday (March 5, 2001) at Lutheran Hospital, Fort Wayne. Dr. James graduated from the Indiana University Medical School. He moved to the Huntington area in 1946, and maintained a medical practice in the area until his retirement in 1991. He served in the Navy during World War II and was stationed in the Pacific. He was born in 1916 in Vincennes. He married Gertrude Demsko in 1943 in San Francisco, Calif.; his wife died Dec. 16, 2000. He is survived by a son, Keith James, Huntington. A second son, Guy James, preceded him in death. There will be no calling hours or services. The family will hold a private burial at a later date. Hart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
