BARBARA ANN FALICIA PERFETTO

Class of 1941

Barbara Ann Falicia was born on October 10, 1919 in Midland, Beaver County, Pennsylvania. Her parents were Walter Dragutin Falicia and Mildred Miladin, both born in Yugoslavia.

At the time of the 1930 Federal Census of Midland, Beaver County, Walter, a steel mill laborer, and Mildred, had the following children: Helen, 24, Pauline, 17, Mary, 14, Joseph, 12, Barbara, 10, Anna, 8, Edward, 7, and Albert, 5.

In 1940, Barbara Falicia, 20, was a student nurse at the St. Francis Hospital School of Nursing. The census record indicates that she had lived in Midland, Beaver County, in 1935.

During World War II, between October 11, 1943 and May 11, 1946, Barbara Ann Falicia served in the U. S. Navy Nurse Corps.

Barbara married Robert Angelo Perfetto, a U. S. Army Veteran of World War II. They lived in Greensburg, Pennsylvania, Auburn, New York, and Matthews, North Carolina. They had at least three sons, Robert Steven, Fred, and Stephen.

Born in Pittsburgh on December 11, 1923, Robert A. Perfetto died on May 16, 1999. He is buried at Forest Lawn East Cemetery, Weddington, Union County, North Carolina.

As of this date, December 16, 2022, Barbara Perfetto is living. The 2019 Alumni Newsletter had mistakenly stated that she is deceased.
