ELIZABETH GIRMAN PHILLIPS

Donora, PA The George Girman family lived in Donora, Washington County, Pennsylvania, at the time of the 1910 Federal Census. George and Mary Girman had the following children: Anna, 15, John, 14, Mary, 10, Elizabeth, 8, Peter, 7, Irena, 4, and Helen, 2.

The census of 1930 finds Nurse Elizabeth Garmin, 28, born in Pennsylvania, father born in Germany, mother born in Austria, working as a nurse for a private family. She was a lodger with the family was Bartley F. Stack, 66, and his daughter, Bernadine, 34, at 44th Street, Pittsburgh.

In 1940, Elizabeth Girman, 39, born in Pennsylvania, a resident of Allegheny County in 1935, was listed as "housekeeper" in the home of Frank W. Phillips, 46, divorced, and his mother, Grace, 78, of Middlesex Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania. Frank and his mother had also resided in Allegheny County in 1935. Frank was a "Poultry man" and had a poultry farm.

When Frank's mother, Angelina Grace (Giles) Phillips, died in December 1943, her death record indicated she had been living in the Butler community for 9 years. Her husband, Frederick Phillips, died in Pittsburgh in 1932.

Elizabeth Girman, 47, born September 2, 1901, no occupation, and Frank W. Phillips, 56, a machinist, were married on May 4, 1949 in Greensburg, Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. Her parents were George Girman and Mary Hlavati, both deceased at the time of the marriage. Elizabeth's address was Murray Avenue, Donora, Pennsylvania. Likewise, as already stated, Frank's parents were deceased. His address was Erie Street, Glassport, Pennsylvania.

According to the Social Security Death Index, Elizabeth died in December 1966, last residence Plant City, Hillsborough County, Florida. Frank, born in 1892, died in 1973. They are interred at Memorial Park Cemetery, Saint Petersburg, Pinellas County, Florida.
