THOMAS V. HALLETT, 52, an executive with the Washington offices of Alexander & Alexander Inc., an international corporate insurance brokerage, died March 20 at Fairfax Hospital after a heart attack. He lived in Vienna.

He had worked for Alexander & Alexander since May 1992. He came to this area in 1991 and had worked for the Frank B. Hall & Co. insurance brokerage for 12 years before joining Alexander & Alexander.

Mr. Hallett, who was born in McKeesport, Pa., was a graduate of Loyola University in Chicago. He had worked for General Motors in Detroit and then lived in New York and Connecticut while working in insurance, before moving here.

He was a member of Our Lady of Good Counsel Catholic Church in Vienna.

His marriage to Arlene I. Hallett ended in divorce.

Survivors include his wife, Dawn V., of Vienna; two children from his first marriage, Thomas Jr., of New York, and Kristen Hallett of Richfield, Conn.; a stepdaughter, Queila Thomas of Vienna; his parents, Agnes and D. Vance Hallett of McKeesport; a sister, Lynn Taylor of Newport News; and a half brother, Samuel Fulton of Gainesville, Fla.

D. VANCE HALLETT, 92, passed away at Riverside Regional Medical Center on Sunday, Jan. 12, 2003.

A native of West Virginia, he had been a resident of McKeesport, Pa., for 80 years and a Newport News resident for the past four years.

He was a Millwright for U.S. Steel. He was a member of St. Angela Merci Catholic Church and a member of the Retired Steelworkers of America.

Mr. Hallett was preceded in death by a son, Thomas, and infant daughter, Mary Ann.

Survivors include his wife, Agnes Wilson Hallett; daughter, Carolyn "Lynn" Taylor and her husband, Bill, of Newport News; son, Samuel Fulton of Gainesville, Fla.; sister, Mary Louise Holliday and her husband, Frank, of Vero Beach, Fla.; five grandchildren, Bill Taylor, Mary Ann Rowe, Carol Morrison, Kristen Hallett and Tom Hallett; seven great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

The family will receive friends at the Hidenwood at anytime. Burial will be at a later date in Pennsylvania.

Peninsula Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

AGNES W. HALLETT, age 102, of Newport News, VA, formerly of Franklin St., McKeesport, died Feb. 21, 2008.

Born in McKeesport May 26, 1905, daughter of late Hugh S. & Elizabeth McDoogle Wilson; wife of late Samuel M. Fulton and D. Vance Hallett (married for 70 years).

Also preceded in death by children; Thomas Vance Hallett and Mary Ann. Former member of St. Angela Church & Christian Mothers, 1921 graduate of St. Peter High School. S

Survived by children Carolyn "Lynn" Taylor of Newport News, VA & Samuel M. Fulton of Gainesville, FL, 5 grand & 8 great grandchildren; sister of Betty Garrity of Abingdon, MD.
