OBITUARY: Angela B. Dudek, 88, of Sewickley, formerly of New Kensington, died Tuesday, Aug. 7, 2007, after a brief stay at Good Samaritan Hospice, Wexford. She was born Nov. 5, 1918, in Homer City, daughter of the late Gregory and Catherine (Klinkiewicz) Kowal and had been a lifelong resident of the New Kensington-Arnold area. A registered nurse, she had worked at Magee-Womens Hospital, Oakland, and Citizens General Hospital, New Kensington. She had also been a school nurse for the New Kensington-Arnold School District for 20 years and an industrial nurse for Alcoa during World War II. She was a member of St. Mary of Czestochowa Roman Catholic Church, New Kensington, where she served on the church council, was a member of the Christian Mothers and a Eucharist minister. She had also been a member of the Diocesan Church Council for the Diocese of Greensburg, the Catholic Daughters of America and the Pennsylvania State Education Association. She received a bachelor of science degree in school nursing from Indiana State University in 1968 and enjoyed reading, cooking, baking, sewing and walking. Survivors include her children, Barbara D. (Dr. John) Yauch, of Sewickley, with whom she made her home, David F. (Tracy) Dudek, of Lake Oswego, Ore., and Frank F. (Janet) Dudek, of Arlington, Va.; six grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; brother, Casey Kowal, of Las Cruces, N.M.; and a sister, Terry (Amel) Dobradenka, of Brackenridge. Besides her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Frank B. Dudek; a son, Joseph Dudek; brothers, Frank, John, Father Michael, Andy, Joseph and Adam Kowal; and sisters, Marie Kowal and Anna Malik. Friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the RUSIEWICZ OF ARNOLD FUNERAL HOME, 1400 Fifth Ave., Arnold, where prayers of transfer will be said at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, followed by Christian Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. in St. Mary Church, New Kensington, with the Rev. Richard P. Karenbauer officiating. Entombment will follow in St. Mary Catholic Mausoleum, Lower Burrell. The CD of A will conduct a service at 2:30 p.m. Friday in the funeral home, followed at 3 p.m. by the Christian Mothers service. - The Valley News Dispatch, Tarentum, Pa.
