ANDREW F. STRCULA
Age 74, of Uniontown, peacefully returned to the loving arms of God on Wednesday, April 15, 2009. Beloved and dedicated husband of 50 wonderful years of Mary (Mikula) Strcula. Very proud and loving father of Dr. Jason Strcula and his wife, Dr. Juliette Murcko. He was preceded in death by his parents Andrew and Anna Kozak Strcula, brother Robert and sister, Martha Arendash. Andrew was a life long member of St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church. He was a graduate of the former North Union High School Class of 1952. In addition to being a basketball player, he was an avid baseball player. Andrew competed on several county league teams. He served in the Army's 429th Engineer Battalion. He pursued his career as a highway designer for PENNDOT for 35 years. Andrew enjoyed gardening and loved sharing the fruits of his labor with family and friends. He was a Steelers and Penguins fan. Andrew always lent a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors. He was an inspiration to us all with his deep love for God and his family. He will be greatly missed, but never forgotten. Friends and relatives will be received at the STEPHEN R. HAKY FUNERAL HOME, INC., 603 N. Gallatin Ave. Extension, Uniontown, PA, on Friday from 2-9pm and on Saturday, April 18, until 9:15am when prayers will be said. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 10:00am in St. Mary (Nativity) Roman Catholic Church, 61 North Mount Vernon Ave., Uniontown, PA with Rev. Father Micah E. Kozoil as celebrant. Interment will be held at St. Mary (Nativity) Cemetery, Uniontown, PA. In lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to St. Mary (Nativity) R.C. Church Building Fund, and the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. The Parish Wake Service will be held on Friday at 3:30pm.
