ELINOR BARBARA TYSKIEWICZ BORKOWSKI

Elinor Barbara Tyskiewicz was born about 1919 to Adam and Martha (Kwiatkowski) Tyskiewicz, residents of Glassport, Allegheny County, Pennsylvania. The parents were Russian-Polish immigrants who emigrated in 1906 and 1907 respectively, and became Naturalized Citizens in 1917.

At the time of the 1920 Federal Census, Adam Tyszkiewicz (as spelled), lived on Delaware Avenue in Glassport with their children. They were: Salomea, 8; Clemens, 6; Florintina, 2, and Elenor 2 months. The father was a retail merchant of meat of groceries.

Martha (Kwiatkowski) Tyskiewicz died 31 July 1925 in Glassport, following childbirth.

By 1930, Adam had married Frances Mallick, and they had an infant son, Adam, Jr., in addition to the children of Adam and Martha: Selma, 18; Clement, 16; Florence, 12; Eleanor, 10, and Teresa, 6.

Adam Stanley Tyszkiewicz died 30 April 1948 in Glassport.

Elinor married John Bronislaus Borkowski. He died in 2007. According to her sister's obit in 2011, Elinor was living in Erie.

John B. Borkowski, 89, of Glassport, died Tuesday, December 25, 2007, in John J. Kane Regional Center, McKeesport.

He was born in Glassport, son of the late William and Blanche (Pomocki) Borkowski.

He was a retired wire inspector for Copperweld. He was a member of the Queen of the Rosary Church and PNA.

He is survived by his wife, Elinor (Tyskiewicz) Borkowski; daughter, Barbara “Babs” (Ralph [Shane]) Borkowski of Woodbridge, Va.; sons, John (Mary Kay) Borkowski of Lake City, Pa. and Marc (Mary Ann) Borkowski of Fairfax, Va.; granddaughter, Ellie Kate; grandson, Christopher Adam; two stepgrandchildren and three stepgreat­grandchildren; brothers, Joseph Borkowski of Redlands, Calif.; Edward Borkowski of Pennsberry Village; sisters, Gertrude (Trudy) Wojton of McKeesport; Genevieve Borkowski of Glassport, and Clara Plaumbo of Liberty Borough. He was preceded in death by a brother, Bernard, and sisters, Cecelia and Laura.

Friends will be received today from 7 to 9 p.m. and Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at the Wojciechowski Funeral Home, 640 Vermont Ave., Glassport, Pa., 15045. A Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, December 29, 2007, at 10 a.m. with the Rev. Kedzierski. Interment will follow in Calvary Cemetery, Port Vue.
