From "HISTORY OF THE UPPER OHIO VALLEY," Vol. I, page 548. Brant & Fuller, 1890. HON. JOHN A. CAMPBELL Hon. John A. Campbell, at present one of the associate judges of the first judicial circuit, was elevated to the bench in 1888. His practice as an attorney was confined to the various courts of upper Ohio valley, in which he had gained an enviable reputation as an advocate of much force and eloquence. His career upon the bench has been too brief to justify the writer in giving an estimate of his ablity as a judge, further than to say that he has the entire confidence of the bar and the public.
