George Alfred Baxter, born 31 Aug 1841 in Brooke Co., VA (now WV), was the son of William Elson and Ellen Maria Cariens Baxter. He died 1 Aug 1923 in Wellsburg, Brooke Co., WV, and is buried in Brooke Cemetery, Wellsburg. He married Alice W. Jacobs 13 June 1867 in Brooke Co., WV.
