FIRST GENERATION

1.  Jacob W Bassett was born in 1845 in England.  He died in 1926.  He was
buried in Taylors Rdg Cem, Marshall Co, WV.  He served in the military in Civil
War, Co C 12th WV Inf.  Pvt Co C 12th WV Vol Inf, age 20, 27 FEB 1864 - 16 JUN
1865.  He was the s/o William Bassett & Sarah.

Address:  Adaline, WV.  Disability Incurred:  Wounded, left arm.

He was married to Cynthia Anne Clark (daughter of Nathaniel Shepherd Clark and
Barbara Jane Gorby) on 31 AUG 1865 in Marshall Co, WV.1  Cynthia Anne Clark was
born in 1847 in Marshall Co, VA.  She died in 1926.  She was buried in Taylors
Rdg Cem, Marshall Co, WV.  

Jacob W Bassett and Cynthia Anne Clark had the following children:

	+2	i.	Clemons Emmanuel Bassett.
	+3	ii.	Alvin A Bassett.
	4	iii.	Ida L Bassett was born in 1872 in Marshall Co, WV.
	5	iv.	Elza J Basset was born in 1875.  He died in 1929.  He was buried in
Taylors Rdg Cem, Marshall Co, WV.
	6	v.	Luvina V Bassett was born in 1879.  She died in 1956.  She was buried in
Taylors Rdg Cem, Marshall Co, WV.


SECOND GENERATION

2.  Clemons Emmanuel Bassett was born in 1867 in Marshall Co, WV.

He was married to Sarah Ann Wayne (daughter of James B Wayne and Rachel
Biddle) on 23 DEC 1907 in Marshall Co, WV.2  Sarah Ann Wayne was born in MAY
1887 in Marshall Co, WV.  She died in 1968.  

Clemons Emmanuel Bassett and Sarah Ann Wayne had the following children:

	+7	i.	Charles Howard Bassett.

3.  Alvin A Bassett was born in 1868 in Marshall Co, WV.

He was married to Bess Wayne (daughter of James B Wayne and Rachel Biddle) on
5 AUG 1906 in Marshall Co, WV.3  Bess Wayne was born in FEB 1882.


THIRD GENERATION

7.  Charles Howard Bassett was born on 9 AUG 1908 in Proctor, Wetzel Co, WV. 
He died on 26 APR 1987 in Parkersburg, Wood Co, WV.  He was buried in Evergreen
North, Parkersburg, Wood Co, Wv.  He was a graduate of West Liberty State
College and was a teacher and principle for a time, but raising a family in the
30's required more than a teachers salary and he became a salesman, first for H
J Heinz and then for Metropolitan Life Insurance Co.

He was married to Opal Electa Yoho (daughter of John Winfield Yoho and Dessie
Lucippi Gatts) on 2 AUG 1930 in Moundsville, Marshall Co, WV.  Opal Electa Yoho
was born on 19 FEB 1909 in Howard, Greenfield Rdg, Marshall Co, WV.  She died
on 20 AUG 1995 in Pass Christian, MS.  She was buried in Evergreen North,
Parkersburg, Wood Co, Wv.  Graduate of Salem College.  After her children were
older she returned to teaching and taught until retirement.
  
Charles Howard Bassett and Opal Electa Yoho had the following children:

	+8	i.	Charles Howard Bassett Jr.
	+9	ii.	Barbara Kay Bassett.
