Great-Great Grandsons of Dr. William M. Parry

     William M. Parry, a student at West Liberty Academy, Ohio County, West Virginia, enlisted on 12 Aug 1862. He was discharged on 24 Jul 1865 in Trenton, New Jersey and later became a physician and surgeon.
      William was born 12 May 1843 in Westmoreland County, Pennsylvania. His parents, natives of Wales, were Roger L. and Elisabeth (Pugh) Parry. Two of William's brothers, Zachary Taylor Parry and Henry Harrison Parry, were veterans of the Civil War, the latter having served in Company D of the 12th Infantry and then in Company C of the 10th Infantry.
     William studied medicine and began his medical practice at Wind Ridge, Pennsylvania. On 13 September, 1871 he married Mary A Sammons. Their children were Edith, Jesse, Jane, Roger, Burdette, Edmund (who died in infancy), and Grace. Dr. Parry died on 28 June 1921, and was buried in Macedonia cemetary in Greene County Pennsylvania.
