Joseph Blair was born in 1835 in Virginia. He married Nancy A. Glenn, born in Kentucky, on 11 Aug 1867 at Jefferson Township, Adams County, Ohio.
At the time of the 1870 census of Brush Creek, Scioto County, Ohio, Joseph, a laborer, 28, and Nancy, 20, had two children: George W., age 2, and Emelia A., age 6 months, both born in Kentucky. The 1880 census finds them in Jefferson Township, Adams County, Ohio. In addition to George and Amelia A., children listed in the census were: Leroy F., (b. c 1874); Cerilda (Serilda) Jane, (b. 13 Oct 1875); John W. (Wesley), (b. 8 Sep 1878). Later, two more sons were born: Charles Richard, b. 6 Jun 1880; James Albert, b. 18 Jun 1882.
Joseph Blair died 9 Feb 1887 at Ripley, Brown County, Ohio. He is buried at Maplewood Cemetery, Lot 65; section D; grave #1, East Ripley, Ohio.
