Declaration for Widow's Pension

State of Pennsylvania,
County of Allegheny, ss;

     On this 16 day of April, A.D., one thousand eight hundred and ninety-four, personally appeared before me, an Alderman, within and for the County and State aforesaid, PAULINA BUCHER, aged 47 years, a resident of PITTSBURGH, County of ALLEGHENY, State of PENNSYLVANIA, who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that she is the widow of EGIDIUS BUCHER, who enlisted under the name of EDIDIUS BUCHER, on the 8 day if FEBRUARY A.D. 1864, as a PRIVATE in Company M in the FIRST Regiment of WEST VA CAV. Volunteers, and served at least ninety days in the late War of the Rebellion, in the service of the United States, who was HONORABLY DISCHARGED July 8th 1865 and died APRIL 14th 1894. That he was NOT employed in the naval or military service otherwise than as stated above....

That he was never employed in the military or naval service of the United States after the 8th day of July, 1865. That she was married under the name of PAULINA BURGER to said EGIDIUS BUCHER, on the 24 day of DECEMBER A.D. 1866, by Alderman ALBITZ at 5th WARD PITTSBURG, there being no legal barrier to such marriage; that she had not been previously married; that her said husband had not been previously married.

That she had not remarried since the death of the said EGIDIUS BUCHER

That she has not abandoned the support of any one of her children, but that they are still under her care or maintenance. - (NO CHILDREN - Mrs. Bucher also states in another document that she and her husband had no children.)

That a prior application for pension has been filed by the soldier AND GRANTED ..NO. OF CTF UNKNOWN.

That she makes this declaration for the purpose of being placed on the pension roll of the United States under the provisions of the Act of June 27, 1890. She hereby appoints, with full power of substitution and revocation, A. C. Frank of #1804 Carson St. Pittsburgh her true and lawful attorney to prosecute her claim, the fee to be Ten Dollars, payable as prescribed by law.

That her post-office address is 38 Enon Alley, Pittsburgh, S.S. county of ALLEGHENY, State of PENNSYLVANIA.
