The pensioner is now receiving $25 per month based on age seventy years, service three years and eighteen days. He has alleged date of birth as November 23, 1840. In view of his former statements as to attained age and age as shown by the Adjutant General's report, the same will be considered as correct, and increase for attained age seventy-five years, may be allowed from November 23, 1915.

My daughter goes to work at 9 a.m. and works until 4:30 P.m. this period I am alone part of the time. Mr Stone is here more Some days then others. Some times gives me a Short ride in his car + sometimes of an evening we all three go out for a ride. haveing been but with a St. Car. which caused an abcess at right Ear. my hering got So bad that all communication was in writing . the Dr told me what it was + that it could be reduced if outside of the bone an X Ray was taken. nothing inside. So I was their taken to the Hospital + Dr. Treble performed the operation + since that time my hearing has been failing fast + my eye sight also - making it unsafe for me to out alone

This is to show that I have been rendering assistance to David J. Curry, 1712 Pennsylvania Avenue, N.W., Washington, D.C., for about two months. Owing to his giddiness he has to be assisted when nature calls, and there are times that he cannot stand alone without the aid of someone.
He has good use of his hands and can feed, dress, and undress after he has been assisted to table or bed. Age 37. (this was hand written on typed letter)

In the City of Washington, District of Columbia on 5 October 1923, David J. CURRY applied for a pension for his service in the Civil War. On the application, he stated that he was eighty two years old and was born Nov 23, 1840 at Waynesburg, Pennsylvania. He enlisted 6 Aug 1861 at Wheeling, WV in Co. B. 1st Va Cav. and was honorably discharged 6 Aug 1864 at Cedar Creek, VA. He stated that his personal description at the time of enlistment was Height: 5 feet 10 1/2 inches, Complexion: fair, Color of eyes: blue, color of hair: dark and that his occupation was saddler. Since leaving the service he has resided at Waynesburg, PA and his occupation has been labor. He further stated that for about a month he has required the regular personal aid and attendance of another person because of the following disabilities: wound in ankle, rheumatism, stomach trouble, deafness, poor eyesight. At the time of the application, he was a pensioner under Certificate No. 796277.
