EZRA MARTIN WOLFE, the son of Martin Van Buren Wolfe and Elizabeth Sine, was born on the 27 of September 1844 in Preston County, Virginia (now W.Va). He married Alcestia C. Kennedy on 22 April 1870, Harrison County, W. Va., and died 6 October 1917, Glen Falls, Harrison County, W. Va.

Ezra enlisted in the Union Army on the 28th day of February 1865 to serve for a period of one year. Ezra was described as being 18 years of age 5' 7" tall, fair complexion, gray eyes, and at the time of his enrollment his occupation was a farmer. Ezra served as a substitute for one Joseph G. Thompson of Clarksburg West Virginia. Ezra enlisted at Grafton West Virginia and was assigned to Company L of the First West Virginia Cavalry. He was discharged July 8th 1865.
