Obituary from Belmont Chronicle - Thursday March 26, 1885

Calvin C. Hassan, a well known citizen of Pease Township, died at his home 3 miles west of Bridgeport, on Sunday 22d inst., in the 71st year of his age, and his funeral took place on Tuesday afternoon. Interment at Church Valley Cemetery. Deceased was born in Cecil County, Md., December 28, 1814, and he came to Belmont in 1832. July 6, 1837 he married Dorcas Scott, who died about 19 years ago. Mr. Hassan was a member of the M. E. Church from boyhood.
