Discharge for Isaiah KERR

Know ye, That Isaiah Kerr a Private of Captain ???? P. Boons Company, (B) First regiment of Mounted West Virginia Volunteers who was enrolled on the Sixth day of August one thousand eight hundred and Sixty one to serve three years or during the war, is hereby Discharged from the service of the United States this thirty first day of December 1863, at New Creek Station RR West Virginia by reason of Reenlistment as a Veteran Volunteer.

No objection to his being re-enlisted is known to exist

Before me, Reginald FORWOOD, a Notary Public in and for the County and State aforesaid, this day personally appeared, Isaiah KERR, to me well-known, and who by me being duly sworn upon oath, states that he is Pensioner under Certificate #756,787, under Act of May 11,1912, and that he was born on the 17th day of March, 1840, and is therefore now Seventy-Five (75) years of age. That he was honorably discharged from the United States Army at Wheeling, W.Va, on the 8th day of July, 1865. That he enlisted as a Private in Company (B) 1st Regiment W.Va Cavalry in 1861. He also States under oath that his mother died while he was seven years of age, that his father died in 1862, and that he has no public church or family record of his birth. That during the summer of 1850 and 1860, he lived with his father on a farm in Pennsylvania, that his father's name was Walter KERR: he also had two brothers named, Nathaniel and Watson KERR, and that these two brothers also served in the same Company and Regiment as himself.

Declaration For Pension of Isaiah KERR

On 23 May 1912, Isaiah KERR, pensioner no. 756787, appeared before a notary and declared that he was 72 years of age, born 17 March 1840 at Washington County, Pennsylvania and was presently a resident of Winslow, Washington County Arkansas. He enlisted on 6 August 1861 as a Private in Co. B. First Regiment of Mounted West Virginia Volunteers and was honorably discharged at New Creek Station on B+O RR on 31 Dec 1863. He also served as Private in Co. "B" First Regiment West Virginia Vet Mounted Volunteers from 23 Dec 1863 until 8 Jul 1865. His personal description at the time of enlistment was height: 5 feet 6 1/2 inches; complexion: fair; color of eyes: black; color of hair: dark and his occupation was farmer. He stated that since leaving the service his places of residence have been Muscatino 1866 to 1899, Ft. Smith, Arkansas until 6 months ago and is now a resident of Winslow, Washington Co. Arkansas. Pension application for Isaiah KERR

On this 15 day of Feby A.D. 1921, personally appeared before me, a Postmaster within and for the county and State aforesaid, Isaiah KERR who being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is 81 years of age, and a resident of Ft. Smith, county of Sebastian, State of Arkansas, and that he is the identical person who was enrolled at Wheeling West Va, under the name of Isaiah KERR, on the --day of July (?) 1861 as a Private, in Co. B. 1st Regiment West Va. Cavalry in the service of the United States, in the Civil War, and was Honorably discharged at Wheeling W.Va, on the --day of April (?), 1865.That his personal description at enlistment was as follows: Height 5 feet 5 inches; complexion Light; color of eyes Brown; color of hair dark; that his occupation was Farmer; that he was born March 17th 1840, at near Waynesburg, Washington Co. Penn.
That his several places of residence since leaving the service have been as follows: Muckatine Iowa, Fort Smith, Ark., Rogers, Ark, Bentonville, Ark. Fort Smith, Ark.
That he is a pensioner under Certificate No. 756787
