Declaration For Pension
(16 Mar 1880)

     On this 18th day of March, A. D. one thousand nine hundred and SEVEN, personally appeared before me, a Justice of the Peace within and for the country and State aforesaid, WILLIAM LOPP who, being duly sworn according to law, declares that he is 75 years of age, and a resident of CALIFORNIA county of WASHINGTON, State of PENNSYLVANIA; and that he is the identical person who was enrolled at CAMP CARLISLE, WHEELING WEST VA under the name of WILLIAM LOPP, on the 30 day of August, 1861 as a PRIVATE, in Co. I 1st Reg WEST VA CAVALRY VOL in the service of the United States, in the CIVIL war, and was Honorably Discharged at WHITE POST VA, on the 26 day of Nov, 1864.
     That he was not employed in the military or naval service of the United States otherwise than as stated above. That his personal description at enlistment was as follows: Height, 5 feet 8 inches; complexion, LIGHT; color of eyes, BLUE; color of hair, DARK; that his occupation was GLASS BLOWER; that he was born MARCH 18th, 1832, at NEW HAVEN, FAYETTE CO PA.
     That his several places since leaving the service have been as follows: Resided in California, Washington Co Pa. continuously since his discharge.
     That he is a pensioner. That he has heretofore applied for a pension PENSION CERT NO 872866.
     That he makes this declaration for the purpose of being placed on the pension roll of the United States under the provisions of the act of February 6, 1907.
     That his post-office address is CALIFORNIA, county of WASHINGTON, State of PENNSYLVANIA.

     It is hereby certified that in conformity with the laws of the United States WILLIAM LOPP who was a PRIVATE, CO "I" 1" REGIMENT WEST VIRGINIA CAVALRY is entitled to a pension under the provisions of the Act of June 27, 1890, at the rate of SIX dollars per month to commence on the eighteenth day of July one thousand eight hundred and ninety. This pension being for PARTIAL INABILITY TO EARN A SUPPORT BY MANUAL LABOR.
Given at the Department of the Interior this Nineteenth day of July one thousand eight hundred and ninety four and of the Independence of the United States of America the one hundred and nineteenth.

Declaration for Widow's Pension
Act of April 19, 1908

     On this 10th day of June, A. D. one thousand nine hundred and eleven personally appeared before me, a Notary Public within and for the said county and State aforesaid, FEBE A. LOPP, aged 50 years, a resident of CALIFORNIA, county of WASHINGTON, State of Pennsylvania, who, being duly sworn according to law, makes the following declaration in order to obtain pension under the provisions of the Act of Congress Approved April 19, 1908.
     That she is the widow of WILLIAM LOPP who was enrrolled under the anme of WILLIAM LOPP at WHEELING WVA, on the 8th day of NOVEMBER, 1861 as a PRIVATE in CORPORAL Co I 1 Regiment WVa Vol Cavalry, and honorably discharged Dec 5th, 1864, having served ninety days or more during the late Civil war.
     That she was married under the name of FEBE A. GOFF to said soldier at BROWNBSVILLE PENNA on the 11th day of August, 1870, by Chas. w. Scott, Minister of the Gospel that there was no legal barrier to the marriage; that she had not been previously married; that the soldier had not been previously married....
     That the said soldier died May 16, 1911, at California PA that she was not divorced from him, and that she has not remarried since his death.
     That the said soldier left the following-named children who are now living and under sixteen years of age, to wit: NONE
     That she has not heretofore applied for a pension.
     That her post-office address is CALIFORNIA, county of WASHINGTON, State of PENNA.
