WILLIAM PATTERSON, Company "L"

     William W. Patterson, son of James and Jane Patterson, died April 11, 1872 at the age of 26y 3m 16d. This would make his birthdate December 26, 1845. He was born in Rappahannock County, Va.

     In Marshall County, W.Va., on September 25, 1865, William married Ann Elizabeth Crebs, born July 5, 1849 in Berkeley County, W.Va., the daughter of Isaac and Mary (Bartlebaugh) Crebs of Winchester, Va. At the time of the marriage, William gave Belmont County, Ohio as his place of residence.

     Anne remained a widow and died Jan. 8, 1924 in Marshall County, W.Va. Both William and Anne are buried at McMechen Cemetery, McMechen, Marshall County, W.Va. Their son, Averell, who apparently died at the age of twelve years, is also buried there.
