WILLIAM FRAZIER, Company "K"

By Linda Fluharty.

WILLIAM FRAZIER is not listed in either the 1864 West Virginia Adjutant General's Report or in the post war A. G. records, called the FINAL REPORT on this website.

According to the pension index card at the National Archives and posted on Footnote.com, he died during the war and his widow and minor child/children received government pensions. The widow applied 7 Sep 1863 and received certificate number 636.738. A book of deaths for Ohio County, W. Va. lists the death of William Frazier 13 August 1863.

The book, Civil War Soldiers of Ohio County, W. Va. by Audra Wayne states that this soldier died in 1907 and is buried in Peninsula Cemetery in Wheeling. Evidently, that is not the case. - Was he the husband of Phoebe Broket(t) who were married in Ohio County 3 Jan 1857? She is listed as a widow of a soldier (surname Frazier) in the 1890 Census of Vets and Widows, Ohio County. She died in Wheeling 13 Jan 1920.
