     Jeremiah Ebbert, born in March 1843, was the son of John and Elizabeth Ebbert, found with their children in the 1850 census of Ohio County, (W) Virginia and in 1860 in Belmont County, Ohio.

     Jeremiah Ebbert enlisted in Comapany "C" 1st Regiment W. Va. Infantry to serve for three years. He re-enlisted in 1864 and when the 1st Infantry msutered out, he completed his enlistment in Company "E" of the 2nd Veteran Infantry.

     Following the war, Jeremiah married Susannah, born in Jan 1848.
