Mrs. Dolores Cunningham, 39, of 700 Market Street, Wheeling, was pronounced dead on arrival at Wheeling Hospital Saturday, after being overcome by gas.

Wheeling Police said the apparent accidental death occurred shortly after 8 a.m.

Police said Mrs. Cunningham ent into her bathroom and in some unknown manner, fell and knocked a small gas heater loose at the connection, cutting her head.

When she was found, police said gas was emanating "full force" from the connection.

Her husband told police she in the bathroom not more than 15 minutes.

Surviving besides her husband, James, are four children.

CUNNINGHAM, Mrs. Dolores Groves, 39, of 700 Market St., died suddenly Saturday at 7:45 a.m. at her home. She is the daughter of the late Thomas Groves and Mrs. Samuel Morris of Ohio. She was born in Wheeling. She was a member of the North Street Methodist Church. Surviving are her husband James L. Cunningham; two daughters, Florence and Cora Blanche at home; one sister, Mrs. Dolly Connors of Ohio; and her grandmother, Mrs. Flo Smith of Wheeling. Friends are being received at Kepner's Funeral Home, 1308 Chapline St. Funeral arrangements are incomplete.

Delores married James Leonard Cunningham, son of William Grant Cunningham and Nettie Florence Atkinson. (James Leonard Cunningham was born on 18 Sep 1904 in (Soc Security Index), died on 5 Oct 1994 and was buried in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Rt. 88, Marshall County, WV.)
